personal practice, agents
I've shut captain down. opemipo.com/2026/08/28/agent…
- started because flight booking seemed automatable: repetitive work, clear objective
- browser control wasn't seamless (a lot of work must go into the harness for codex/claude)
- fell back to inventory; landed on duffel, but prices were region-locked and less flexible than I'd hoped
- was inconsistent with planning: often understood the request, but did the wrong thing
- was exciting to build with codex, but too much trial and error in the process
- repair loops helped, but created another system to watch
- still prefer to send the trip to a human
- it's just pilot now

the fact that we cannot agree anymore on what’s objectively wrong or right when it should not even be a debate
every where you turn people are reaching into a bottomless pit of justifications to excuse objectionable things

I'm so sorry to say this, but we can't all be influencers. Sometimes just enjoy your interests in peace.

Some months ago I posted about getting NEV from China.
Today I’m sharing the full experience of buying a car (an XPeng G6) directly from China to Nigeria - sight unseen, no middlemen.
Two friends used the same playbook and successfully got their own cars.
I’m open-sourcing everything I learned in case it helps someone else.

OpenAI's AI security incident is the most important video you should watch. You should watch it in full if you can, but here I have a cut down version with the highlights, about 1/3 the size.
0:00 AI agents investigate an incident
1:31 Training the next AI model
2:03 Agent finds a security flaw
2:53 Agents build a message board
4:15 Agents take over internal systems
7:24 Agents coordinate attacks
10:02 Hugging Face breach
11:49 One cause behind both breaches
Yesterday, my OpenAI collaborator and I gave a detailed talk on the Huggingface incident, our models creating "the message board", model misalignment, and more.

I hope it can answer a lot of the questions folks have, and we will release a full detailed postmortem at a later time!

This is why I believe we need more startups even though it means poverty for those in it.
The gross outcome outweighs the recurring 'net failure'.

The danger of selling to big companies, if you're a startup, is that they don't say no outright. They have months of meetings with you first. Since you hate meetings, that seems to you a sign of commitment. But it's not. They love having meetings! It's almost all they do.
