Fiqh and ethics are different things. Something can be technically shari’ah compliant while simultaneously massively unethical.
The conflation of the two is a huge problem that will continue to exist as long as general Islamic education is neglected.
Palantir is deemed Shariah compliant by several globally recognised Shariah screening standards
Including AAOIFI.
The Shariah board at AAOIFI comprises the most experienced and renowned Scholars in the world
Either you accept Palantir is Shariah compliant or you stop using “the scholars approved it” as a defence for Islamic products.
Pick your lane.

I reject the idea of “the West”. The Mediterranean Basin remains a cultural and intellectual continuum.
The real divergence is with the North. The chaos its people have unleashed on humanity since the Enlightenment is in opposition to what Rome and Muslim civilizations built.
I want to see where all those “Axis of Resistance” apologists are now.
It should be very clear by now that the goal was unending war against Sunnis all along.
Palestinian Bedouins (and Bedouins more generally) are best described by the Persianate word “beghayrat”. They have no honor or dignity and will sell themselves to the lowest bidder.
Ibn Khaldun vindicated once again.
Yosef Alziadna was one of the great heroes of October 7th. That morning he was asleep in bed when a friend called him to help. Alziadna drove past Be'eri under fire, reached the party grounds and packed 30 people into his 14-seat minibus.
Today, the State of Israel destroyed his storage shed and chicken coop, tore out what was left of his nephew's house (the nephew had already knocked it down himself to avoid a forced demolition), and damaged land.
This is how Israel treats its Palestinian citizens. No matter how much you serve the Zionist regime, you will remain subhuman to them.
This is a great example of the work Muslims can do in the US that actually has a real, tangible effect. Working within the legal system to protect religious rights like this isn’t possible in most other countries, Muslim or non-Muslim.
Important note for those who assume Islamic scholarship is detached from the real world and exists in an ivory tower: this was done in conjunction with Islamic scholarship, notably Shaykh Amin and @DarulQasim, and not haphazardly without religious framework.
The #Blackhawks are making the playoffs this year. This feels like 2008/2009. Dynasty incoming.
The Mongols were prominent in Darul Islam for 200 years. They were at times ruthless conquerors, at times gracious(ish) overlords, at times Islamized rulers. To pick one incident and represent it as typical of scholarly attitudes in general is disingenuous.

Israel would collapse in a week if Jordan didn’t exist solely to protect its eastern flank. Jordan and Israel are militarily intertwined through CENTCOM.
This guy thinks we’re all idiots (and to be fair, his citizens seem to be ok with this arrangement, so maybe so).
Jordan’s King Abdullah II:
This Israeli government's appetite is now a regional threat. And today, Syria is the warning.
The international community is choosing not to see repeated incursions, creeping territorial expansion, new facts and posts on the ground, including around vital water resources.
Step by calculated step, Israel is testing how far it can go.
And every time the international community looks away, Israel learns that it can go even further, across borderlines and legal limits.
A hill I’m willing to die on: we shouldn’t be linguistic purists, especially with regard to Arabic.
Arabic has never had a problem borrowing words or evolving new ones. There’s no hard line between where “fuṣḥa” stops and “‘āmiyya” begins.
“What Is Islam?” is an incoherent mess not worth the paper it’s printed on.
I remain convinced that it only made a big splash in academia because its author died before publication and it validates insecure Muslims who just wanted to drink a glass of wine with dinner.
Caner Dagli on Shahab Ahmed's What is Islam?
"Ahmed has a principle of inclusion, but no principle of exclusion, which means he offers no principle at all. He cannot answer the question “What is Islam?” because he cannot answer the question “What isn’t Islam?”26 To assert that Islam can be anything and to make it impossible to conceptualize something that is actually not Islamic is to say that Islam has no legacy, no principles, no values. It is a sophisticated way of asserting, “Islam is whatever Muslims think it is,” and Ahmed's conceptualization of Islam provides absolutely no barrier to making such an assertion. It turns Islam into a phenomenon of endless creativity but without any sense of correctness or discipline, making of it an aggregation of reflexes and pointless hoarding." p. 220, Metaphysical Institutions.
Another great victory of the “Axis of Resistance” was the destruction and desecration of the grave and mosque of fifth rightly guided khalifah. Champions of anti-imperialism, surely.
