ALT Today, Mayor Leon Rockingham, Jr., City Council members, North Chicago School District 187 officials, and community and state dignitaries were on hand to sign a steel construction beam of the new Neal Math and Science Academy, located at 1905 Argonne Drive in North Chicago. The new middle school, which is currently under construction, broke ground in spring 2021 and is slated to be completed in the Fall of 2022. Construction has been made possible by the courtesy of a $40 million dollar donation from North Chicago based pharmaceutical company, AbbVie. Officials penned their wishes and aspirations today on the structural beam of the school leaving their mark in history.
