Quenton Nelson wanted to sign a long-term extension with the Colts, hopefully to retire in Indianapolis, but former GM Chris Ballard elected not to, per @RapSheet. Another misstep from the Colts, who were now forced to trade Nelson for value.

I don’t think people understand how badly Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard failed this organization. They had a bunch of studs all in their early/ mid 20’s and failed face first. World Class failure , and Shane Steichen still has a job.
