So no olive branch from Netanyahu to the opposition, but he isn’t claiming either that his coalition is going to win. Instead he’s stressing his camp’s “Zionist” and “Jewish” majority and delegitimising any idea of a government supported by the Arab parties.
It’s not a victory speech. It’s an election speech. The election isn’t over. It could be just beginning.
He still hopes the numbers and a few defectors can somehow add up to a majority, or one of the opposition parties caves, but he’s already preparing the ground for the next election campaign in early 2027.
The other main element in the speech was of course Iran. Which, together with his friend Trump, Israel has a “one-off opportunity” to defeat “once and for all.”
Netanyahu’s strategy now is clear.
1. He’s lost his Knesset majority but he’s going to make sure no-one else can form a government
2. Launch a 3rd war with Iran, which of course will finally topple the regime
3. Then a quick election which he will win handily.

My question is why that criticism wasn’t heard throughout the campaign. Not at the right-wing bloc, but at Lieberman, Bennett and Lapid, and at Gadi Eisenkot, who explained that there’s the Zionist bloc, and then there are those who might support it from outside.
We can all agree on one thing: if this exit poll holds, 70 MKs ran on saying no to Netanyahu and his coalition. That’s not up for debate.
By the same token, let’s respect the fact that somewhere between 70 and 90 MKs promised not to sit with the Arab parties. Even without counting Yashar, there are 70 MKs against that partnership.
So which election promise is supposed to be broken?
A quick experiment: if Lieberman announced tonight that he was going with Bibi, everyone would jump on him in fury. So why, if he goes with the Arab parties, would everyone say, “See? Fine”?
Why is one promise something we can shrug off, “the election’s over, the masks come off,” while the promise not to sit with Netanyahu is set in stone?

What happened here:
- Mbappe made an offhanded comment that called Mao a dictator
- China is *intensely* nationalistic in a way most Westerners have no real experience with
- Chinese social media blows up every perceived insult to China into a discourse nuclear bomb.
- The CCP tacitly encourages this as they think it's politically useful
- 95% of the time, whichever Western brand did something to 'offend' the chinese - like quoting the Dalai Lama, acknowledging the existence of Taiwan, or criticizing the CCP - will do a humiliation ritual of prostrating themselves and apologizing for the grave offense, because $$$$$$
