Trading captures more value per block than any other onchain activity.
It's recurring, dense, and structurally suited for blockchain.
So why does most trading still happen on centralized exchanges?
Because traditional, single-proposer blockchains aren't built for trading.

Yei Finance has tightened its risk posture across Sei markets.
5 assets have been frozen: frxUSD, sfrxUSD, frxETH, sfrxETH, wstETH. Supply and borrow are disabled on frozen assets. Existing positions can still be withdrawn or repaid. Conservative supply and borrow caps have been applied across all other markets.
Yei Finance has not been directly affected by recent events. These adjustments reflect an ongoing review of risk exposure across supported markets.
New from Sei Labs researchers: Block Update Digests
Global state trees force every validator to update a structure that spans millions of entries, even for blocks that modify only a few thousand keys.
With BUDs, validators commit only to what changed in each block.
Instead of updating a trie over all state on every block, validators produce a small digest over just the keys that changed. This allows cost of commitment to scale with the block's write set, not total state size.
