The bowls I made sold for $230 last night at a fundraising auction for a local non-profit. Woo hoo!!!
Played in my second pickleball tournament with my partner John tonight. Our 1st one in March we won 0 games and lost 11. Tonight, we won all of our games with 2 pickles and got 1st place. A few months of practice can go a long way.
Don't know about your Sunday afternoon, but I got to watch a car drag race an airplane. A great Sunday, in my opinion.

Congrats to Krish Patel for wrapping up his summer research with us as a UD Summer Scholar. Krish worked with @BioenggSingh to investigate the influence of breast cancer cell density on endothelial permeability. I am looking forward to continue working with him this semester

Did you know that NIH funded the development of 354 out of 356 drugs that were approved from 2010-2019?
Only 2 were privately funded. The same NIH with a proposed 40% budget cut. What are we doing to medical innovation? Gift article link below…🎁💉

U.S. COVlD transmission is expected to increase quickly. Today is a good day to restock on masks, tests, and air filters. Check your blood pressure. If you can afford it, get an indoor air quality monitor. Track nearby transmission via the new links on our dashboard.

PMC COVlD Dashboard, Jun 23, 2025 (U.S.)
We continue to expect transmission to break 500,000 daily infections in the U.S. around July 9th.
This is the same prediction as last week, as the forecast was dead on. Yet, there is considerably uncertainty around this timing.

The United States is at substantial risk of loosing their leadership position in biomedical research, which will have severe negative consequences both for human health and the US economy. If you share this concern, please see below for how to take action before it is too late.

** VERY RARE G4 SOLAR STORM WATCH **
This is a map I made based on G4 storm history. If the storm does not achieve G4 levels, the viewing levels will be farther north and vice versa. More information about viewing the Northern Lights will be posted over the next 24 hours. Stay tuned!
The Space Weather Prediction Center is monitoring the risk for a potential geomagnetic storm after the release of a strong CME (coronal mass ejection) from the Sun yesterday afternoon. The current projection is for this storm to reach G4 (severe) strength, which would allow for the Northern Lights to be visible across the Commonwealth on the horizon and away from heavily light-polluted regions. The last two recent times a G4 Solar Storm Watch was issued were in May of 2024 and October of 2024, which both brought prolific shows across Pennsylvania. Nothing is a guarantee, but a LARGE aurora show tomorrow night is a growing possibility.
EARLY VIEWING FORECAST: Other than the expected cold conditions, the sky conditions look pretty good. The highest smoke concentrations look to remain west of PA Sunday night and most regions look to be cloud-free, with a few clouds possible across northeastern PA.
PRELIMINARY BEST VIEWING TIME: 10 pm (Sun) - 6am (Mon). Substorms throughout the period may increase aurora visibility.
➡️DISCLAIMER MUST READ: Solar weather is difficult to predict so be prepared to set up for disappointment. It is possible the CME arrives earlier than projected or later than projected or never arrives at all! The best place to view the Northern Lights is away from any light pollution and the long-exposure cameras and night mode will best pick up the colors. During stronger substorms, you will be able to see all of the colors, but best away from cities and light pollution!⬅️
Here is hoping for the Northern Lights tomorrow night. Clear skies are expected with low moonlight. Stay tuned for updates!
