With a .NET 7 iOS app, both dotnet and VS Mac end up building with the .NET Standard 2.0 Xamarin.Essentials.dll which does not have the Platform type. It does not use the xamarinios10/Xamarin.Essentials.dll which a classic Xamarin iOS project would use.

In VS Mac 17.4 preview 1 you can change the font size in preferences - Environment - Fonts - General Tool Window Text.
Updates are only shown for the selected NuGet package source. In the screenshot you have nuget.org selected.
In VS Mac 17.0 they are currently hidden behind a feature flag. Easiest way to enable this flag is to install the feature switch addin (main menu - Extensions) and then check DotNetWorkload in preferences, restart VS Mac. Templates should be in multiplatform or Other - Custom

Currently looking at getting NuGet restore working for multi-target projects. No build support yet in VS Mac.
