Me and the family at @kidicalmassmcr on Sunday. What a blast! Big up to @luxerama for rigging up our @ternbicycles cargo bike with his home made bike carrier-trailer. Ended up being a much appreciated taxi for bikes and little people with tired legs! All the love ❤️🚲

A plea to anybody out there with a live in vehicle ticket pass that they have available to sell for @GreenManFest. Anybody??? We are really in need 🙏🏻🙏🏻xx

Michael wasn’t just a rock solid friend, he was an incredibly generous human to everyone he worked with. He basically invented a genre of science broadcasting: experimenting on himself, talking about his medical problems, being a curious human being not an ivory tower expert. 🧵

A 22 year old woman cyclist was killed in Didsbury on Friday. Every death on our roads is avoidable. In no other sphere would we allow the scene of a death to reopen within hours, unchanged. #VisionZero is meaningless if not intervening wherever a road’s proven dangerous.

Bad things happen when leaders are appointed just because they fit “the type” rather than being any good. Posh accent, arrogant, privately educated, all the connections, supremely confident & condescending & totally useless. God I’ve met so many like this. theguardian.com/uk-news/arti…

Remember, again, inflation may be down, but prices are much higher than they were 3 years ago. Prices are not coming down. They are rising more slowly.
Replying to @resfoundation
The big shift in prices has come via a huge rise in the relative cost of essentials. Energy is up by 90% and food up by 31%, compared with overall prices rising 22%. Importantly, while *inflation* is falling, high prices will be with us for the foreseeable future.

Our latest petition to @ManCityCouncil is now taking off. If you agree with us that there should be a proper park on the remaining half of the former Central Retail Park in Ancoats, please sign and share you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio…

We are assisting at an historical moment. Thank you Ireland for taking this important step towards justice, hence towards peace. This brings joy and sadness at the same time. Why has it taken so many years? So much death? So much suffering?
BREAK: Ireland formally recognises the State of Palestine.

When I grow up I want to become Cate Blanchett, and have the subtlety to think the carpet is already red, so I can just wear a black & white dress with green lining to make such a strong point. #cannes2024

This is AMAZING and encouraging - and a sign of how things can shift quickly after a long time of not seeming to change much, whilst in the background people campaign hard, get made fun off, & go to boring meetings and fun protests. What a brillliant day! 😎🚲👨‍👧 @Kidicalmassmcr
Still can't get over how many families came out today for @Kidicalmassmcr Hundreds of people demanding change happens now! 🚴

Three years ago Winchmore Hill Green was basically a sleepy car park with little footfall. After full pedestrianisation it’s now a thriving centre for the community, and businesses are delighted. #PedestrianisationWorks and if you’re a Councillor, push for it in your patch!

The most exciting change is happening at the local level; in communities, councils, amongst neighbours. We can’t hang on for a new government, a spending review; there are changes we can make on Monday. Courage to liberate frontline teams to start with the person not the service
Reformation of local government requires courageous political & managerial leadership. Read our NED @ProfDonnaHall's account of what it took to reform a Council from the outside in wearec.co/courageous-politic…… #wearecco #reformlocalgovernment #wigandeal #JohnKnight #transformation

A bunch of amazing, passionate Manchester women pedalling the way forward and leading the cycling revolution ✨✨✨✨✨
And none of this is possible without the energy and care of a load of people volunteering their time and expertise. A particularly big shout out to the core @Kidicalmassmcr team - Layla, Pauline, Sarah and Paul. 💕

Gutted to miss this Kidical Mass, but WHAT a sight! Safer streets = cleaner air, less congestion, less fatalities.
THE LARGEST UK KIDICAL MASS EVER WOW that was absolutely incredible The message is clear - families want safer streets to cycle in Greater Manchester
