In 2008, a 31-year-old undefeated Floyd Mayweather took a $20 million cheque to step into a no-disqualification match with a 7-foot, 450-pound giant.
That was the deal at WrestleMania XXIV. After Mayweather broke Big Show’s nose at No Way Out to ignite the angle, WWE sold the size mismatch hard. Big Show publicly asked whether the money was worth risking his career.
Mayweather, already the face of boxing after the De La Hoya payday and the “Money” rebrand, treated it as pure business: quick results, quick big money, and a chance to say he ran the WWE too.
The risk was real in theory — one mis-timed bump or an overzealous shot from a man three times his size could have ended the night differently. In practice it was scripted sports entertainment.
Mayweather trained with Triple H, used a chair and brass knuckles, and knocked Big Show out in front of 74,000 people. He left with the win, the headline, and a payday larger than almost every boxing purse of his career to that point.
Worth it? For Mayweather, the answer was never in doubt. The only question was how many times he’d get to say “I told you so.”
He wildn 😭😭
Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda Maday were left SPEECHLESS when Kyle Massey started ROASTING them over everything people have been saying about them online 😭💀
“Miranda, they saying that you’re Raven’s handler… everybody thinks you’re in control of everything she does, all decisions, all the STUPID sh*t she says. I’m here to set the record straight… there is NO WAY you can be her handler. No one can handle Raven. She can’t even stand in front of a microphone and speak without pissing everybody off. Are you aware we can hear you?” 😭
