Who am I and why should you follow๐Ÿ‘‡ Most leadership advice is written by people who haven't touched production in a decade. I'm a systems architect and engineering leader writing about extreme technical debt, stoic leadership, and executing from the root.

Lonely nerds in the Valley now realizing the best way to get laid is to put "works at an AI lab" on their LinkedIn.

After a deep analysis of the 81m web pages in the Greppr.org index yesterday, I realized there is ~10% of that index that is low-quality entries that can be purged. Doing that purge today, wish me luck.

Final purge of the data completed on the discs, save about 200GB of storage also which is nice.

The desire for an AI to push you to start the next task while the current task is unfinished reminds me of Product Managers. Not cool.

Lots of butt hurt Indians and Israels in the comments there. Lower your ridiculous corporate taxes and compete instead of complaining...

I'm following this case with interest. The fact that the Brave bot is not self identifying is new information to me, they are in the grey zone on this.
โ€ผ๏ธ The New York Times calls Brave a burglar and an AI "fence", accusing it in a lawsuit of selling scraped journalism to AI labs including Anthropic, xAI and Perplexity. The complaint says Brave copied 30 billion+ webpages with a crawler it never named, so sites could not block it, then sold that index to AI companies. Brave's own blog said in 2023 that Anthropic used its search API to train Claude 2. The Times says Brave's browser even has a "Paywall blocker", promoted as a way to "Bypass Paywalls". It says Brave made $100M+ reselling publishers' work while publishers got nothing.

I'm using Gemini Argon a lot more for deep analysis now, and getting it to write extensive technical prompts for me to feed into Qwen 3.8 Next Flash to do the actually coding locally. Gemini as the architect, Qwen as the engineer. Working well for me!

Embarrassed to admit I didn't know pinch-and-zoom works in Linux on my Framework laptop touchpad until just now. I've been using it for years.

I have one of the older Frameworks, maybe first gen? It's a little beast, never felt the need to upgrade as I do most of my dev now on a Framework PC. As a "daily driver" it's perfect.

Just checked, and I've been using this laptop daily since late 2022 without issue, cost โ‚ฌ1,663 at the time. Framework make great machines.
