No negotiating with your lazy self. Sure, rest and recovery as needed. But don’t deliberate unnecessarily. Action. @jockowillink
Stop negotiating with yourself when the alarm goes off: The alarm goes off and there is no debate. No negotiating. Sort of robotic - the thing goes off and you do what you're supposed to do. Then go work out. Break a sweat and you will feel better and you will get energy from it. That is a guarantee. The only way it goes the other direction is going psycho hard: lift, run, surf and jujitsu in the same day. That is not a normal day. @jockowillink on @hubermanlab

Sorry, let me see if I got all this... Dr. Karl Deisseroth was jointedly awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology yesterday. He's a professor of bioengineering, psychiatry, and behavioral sciences at Stanford University, where he earned his medical degree and a PhD in neuroscience. His Nobel Prize win capped off the past decade of earning other prestigious honors, including the Japan Prize, the Heineken Prize, the Horwitz Prize, and the Kyoto Prize. He is married to Dr. Michelle Monje, who is a neuroscientist and professor of neurology at Stanford. She is also an MD and PhD. Last year, she won the Brain Prize, which is one of the world's most prestigious honors in neuroscience. That capped off the past decade of honors for her, including the Ross Prize, the Marks Prize, the Lounsbery Award, and a MacArthur Genius Grant. They have four children. They have a great home life. They are both respected and well-liked by their colleagues. They appear to be two good human beings doing very good work in the world to help other human beings while balancing a happy and healthy family life and supporting each other's careers, both of which are among the most accomplished in their respective fields. Did I get all that?
The most important briefings of the day. Karl Deisseroth, professor of bioengineering and of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, shares the news of his Nobel Prize with his kids.

I’m European. Most people chase the American Dream. But moving to Mexico shattered my Western mindset. 11 Mexican oddities I still can’t wrap my head around (an Easter Thread):

Napoleon’s Productivity Framework: - Sleep in bursts, don’t drain yourself. - Decide fast, don’t overthink. - Use data to inform every move. - Plan relentlessly. - Stay calm under pressure. Napoleon’s genius wasn’t luck… It was all thanks to his golden habits.

2. Ruthless Prioritization Napoleon was decisive because he understood the power of focus. He worked systematically without multitasking and ignored anything that didn’t align with his objectives. Open one door at a time.

5. Who you know > What you know. Network beats money in the bank every time. 6. Give yourself permission to make more mistakes. Most of my success came from my failures. I wish I knew this sooner.

They say we Muslims are "terrorists". Did we commit the hoIocaust? Did we drop the Atomic Bombs? Did we melt the skin off Vietnamese children? Did we kill 2.4 Million Iraqis? Did we create Al Qaeda? Did we starve millions with sanctions? Did we fund coups and dictatorships across the globe? Did we imprison a million children without food, water, and medicine? And you call us the terrørists?

Absolutely true
🇺🇸 STEVE JOBS: THE BEST MANAGERS ARE GREAT CONTRIBUTORS... WHO NEVER WANTED TO BE MANAGERS "At Apple, we thought hiring professional managers would make us a big company. It didn’t work—most were bozos who could manage but couldn’t do anything else. The best managers? Great individual contributors who never wanted the job but took it because they knew no one else could do it as well." Source: BusinessX on IG

Go on more walks. Walk for no reason. Walk to solve a problem. Walk to blow off steam. Walk to get outside. Walk to listen, read, and learn. Walk to escape distractions. Walk to improve your health. Walk to think. A simple walking habit can change absolutely everything.
