i was talking to my 4yo daughter today about the midterms and how most people oppose building data centers, complain about the cost of living, and want to tax the rich
she looked at me and said "but daddy, if we build more data centers we can get to ASI and solve virtually every problem! and if we tax the rich, who's going to invest in building all the things we need? we can't make people richer by taxing investment and increasing government spending!"
so i told her "yes sweetie, but most people are lazy, love stealing from people who build, and have an IQ of 80"
she looked confused and asked "then why do we let them make these decisions?"
i said "well, sweetie, that's how it works in a democracy and why we have elections. everyone gets to vote, and their vote counts just as much as anyone else's"
she thought about it for a second and said "but daddy, that means the people who don't understand anything get to decide the future of the people who do?"
"yes sweetie, that's democracy"
she looked me dead in the eyes and said "then democracy is retarded and they shouldn't be allowed to vote" and went back to play
i was left speechless

Formal verify everything
New on our Frontier Red Team blog: using Claude to formally verify software at large scale.
Formal verification can prove that code is free of certain bugs, but historically it has only been feasible for small codebases (or required a lot of expert time).
With AI models, however, this is beginning to change. In collaboration with @theoremlabs, we used Claude to prove security properties in over one hundred real-world open-source libraries over the span of a few weeks.

> 20 y/o Algerian guy on a video call, when he saw me he pointed his camera at me
> “look at this idiot, wearing a watch. I’m going to rob him, rich idiot” he says in Arabic
> laughs in my face
> I stare at him, the whole time, I understand what he is saying
> he notices I’m staring at him and tells whoever is on the call with him I might be sussed out
> I ask him in Arabic if he’s talking about me
> “no I was just joking with friends”
> de-escalate and go upstairs
> look down from window
> he’s talking so loud, chirping and harassing passersby
I’m Algerian and now instead of things like Augustine, our space program, our computer chip manufacturing program, or any of the awesome things we’ve done
Every body will remember people like this, whether they intuitively grasp that most their interactions w Algerians are bad or not that is what will be remembered
Get them out, if they don’t serve a purpose they shouldn’t be here.

Shameful behavior
While using Omarchy I found myself needing to cast some videos to my TVs. I found no tool that helps me do that, so in the spirit of the We Can Fix Everything, I build a plugin to do just that.
If anyone else has the same need, feel free to use it.

Linux communities had 35 years to make what Omarchy did in a month.
Think about it.
