So we've found that Chris Luxon does not believe in:
- Budgets
- Abortions
- Dinosaurs
- Climate change
- Te Tiriti (te reo)
- First Elections
- Classroom autonomy
- Renter's rights
What else?

#BREAKING in Newshub’s final pre-election polling the Greens are on 14.9%, & NINETEEN MPs in Parliament.
The Green wave is here. It’s happening.
The most important thing now is that everyone goes out and VOTES. The time is now.

You’re right, it’s too open to abuse.
It’s got worse since postal & online voting was given to all.

God forbid U.S. ever goes to online voting.
There’s good reason the U.S. abandoned an online voting pilot program for overseas military.
It’s not secret & it’s not safe. Right now.
Way too vulnerable to manipulation by hostile actors.
I’m sure Glenn& his Boss is all for it🙄

We have many challenges to ensuring their are no fraudulent or stolen accounts. The state of cybersecurity, such as it exists in the US today, leaves much to be desired. We are not anywhere close to being ready for online voting from a security standpoint.

@averygrrl it's just a cost benefit analysis, its cheaper to steal an online election. online voting is just a terrible idea, for any country. it's not like the US wouldn't hack another country's elections, it's so much cheaper than the usual youtube.com/watch?v=obr1vx7N…

The amount of people thinking online voting is a good idea is frighteningly high.... Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure that these people also probably has the most vulnerable devices

Pencil and paper works, is cheap, is fast to count, is secure, works when the power goes off, and everybody understands it.
OK, the power doesn't go off much in the UK, but I've run a polling station in Kosovo by torchlight. Pencil and paper voting continued normally.

We’re not focusing enough on the practical impact of Zeldin as NY Gov:
* Defunding mass transit
* Cuts to public schools
* Appointment of Trumpian judges
* Resumption of fracking
* Pardon of Trump on State charges
* End to State funding for abortion providers

Mastodon is an increasingly popular choice. You could join an existing server or make a new one depending on your tech ability. (Just don't join mastodon.social, it's too big.)
A dedicated progressive politics US server would be neat!

Hi my dears. Two things can be true at once.
Thing 1: we desperately need to unlearn colonial domination relations to our environment & each other.
Thing 2: at 8 billion people, a non-domination relation will be a) lot of work & care, b) high-tech and c) low-consumption.
