The reactions are telling. We grew up alongside Christians, visiting their churches and homes, attending their funerals and praying for them. Then you read such comments and remember that a shared religion can never bridge the divide between our social values

"Biz, Irak'a Amerikan tanklarının sırtında giren İran değiliz. Suriye'deki kadınların çocukların bombalanması için Putin'i getirmek üzere Moskova'ya giden Kasım Süleymani'de değiliz..."
Imagine thinking you’re seconds away from death and your first instinct is to cry out "Ya Ali" instead of saying the shahada and calling upon Allah alone.
.. if even the fear of death doesn’t make you turn directly to Allah, then what exactly will ?
(إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ)
No amount of arguing over whether you call it tawassul or istighatha changes what is actually being questioned. Tawhid is not just believing that Allah ultimately holds all power while your tongue calls upon someone else. Du'a is worship. Seeking what only Allah can grant belongs to Allah. Ali R.A was himself an 'abd of Allah who worshipped Him, called upon Him and depended upon Him.
If there is ever a moment in which tawhid should be at its clearest, it is when you believe you are about to die.
There is no one to invoke, no one to seek deliverance from and no name more deserving of your last words than Allah’s. This is literally what 'La ilaha illa Allah' demands from us.

Shroogis need to discover the revolutionary concept of leaving Baghdad alone for once.
.. al-Rahman Mosque isn’t some random abandoned structure waiting for your next 'bright' idea. Its entire design was conceived as monumental Iraqi Islamic architecture, from the enormous central dome to the surrounding domes, repetition and Islamic geometry. If it were ever completed, it would easily be one of the region’s most beautiful landmarks. (Even when it’s abandoned, it’s beautiful to look at while walking or driving in al-Mansour)
Apparently Sadrists taking the mosque from the Sunnis after 2003 wasn’t enough, now they have moved on to suggesting it shouldn’t even remain a mosque. Baghdad has endless places where a central library could be built from the ground up after the millions of shroogis are kicked out to where they came from.
