Senior Advocate Rebecca John has criticised the legal framework governing police action against protesters, saying that people detained during peaceful demonstrations are deprived of safeguards available to even those arrested for heinous offences such as murder and rape. Gems of Karnataka SIR! At least 37 people have filed Form-7 to delete their own names from Karnataka’s electoral rolls, saying they are “dead” In another 334 pairs of cases, two people have filed forms declaring each other dead Hello @ceo_karnataka, @ECISVEEP 👋🏼 👋🏼 thehindu.com/news/cities/ban…
Gems of @ECISVEEP @ceo_karnataka! Two voters reported each other dead just one day apart. 11th June: Mallikarjun reports Viramma dead. 12th June: Viramma reports Mallikarjun dead. Wait! How does someone declared dead file an objection the very next day? This raises serious questions. Was a false death claim made, or was a form filed in someone else's name? And this isn’t an isolated case. There are 334 such pairs (668 voters) with both voters in each pair registered at the same booth and each reporting the other dead.

A narrative is being set that it was because of protesters that shopkeepers are forced to shut their shops. But local journalists covering the protest say, Protestors, scores of them were buying stuff from local shops. It was the police that asked the shopkeepers to shut down their shops for “some time.” This was at Mandi House yesterday.

Mohan–Modi–Shah–Gyanesh’s Vote Chori gang has dug itself into a hole so deep that it may never find its way out. Former Chief Election Commissioner O.P. Rawat has now dropped another bombshell. He has said that even setting aside the Form 6 discrepancies, the SIR process still involves violations of the law and grave illegality. The law provides that if revised electoral rolls are not finally published before an election, the previously published rolls must be used. Yet, West Bengal, elections proceeded on the revised rolls even as eligible voters remained excluded and their appeals were still pending. This again confirms that West Bengal has an illegitimate government. Suvendhu Adhikari has been imposed on the people of West Bengal.

Rahul Gandhi deserves credit for bringing the Ankita Bhandari case back into the spotlight. A flash visit can grab headlines; the challenge is for us in the media to ensure those headlines don’t fade before justice is done. Will Ankita’s parents finally get answers? And will those allegedly influential enough to evade scrutiny ever be held accountable?
"We want justice for our daughter." Four years after Ankita Bhandari’s murder, her parents are still demanding answers. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met the grieving family at India Gate, as questions over the CBI probe and the alleged role of a VIP bring the case back into focus. #AnkitaBhandari #RahulGandhi #IndiaGate #Uttarakhand #NewsToday | @sardesairajdeep

Justice Nariman laments that the removal of 90 lakh voters in Bengal did not move the Supreme Court enough to stay the SIR process. "In West Bengal elections, 90 lakh voters were disenfranchised; that is an astounding figure. 90 lakh voters getting disenfranchised did not somehow move the Supreme Court enough to stay this. Out of those who were disenfranchised, some 22 lakh voters actually filed appeals. The others must be people who don't have the wherewithal for access to justice. And of these 22 lakh voters, some 1 lakh voter appeals were decided 93% in favour of the voters. So, you can imagine this was a completely illegal knocking out of the common man, the citizen of India, in order that a government obtains what it wants. And in West Bengal, we saw, it ousted the Government of the day and brought in the Government of the Centre . Now, these are very very disturbing things that are happening in our country today."

IMPORTANT: 97 voters in Goa verified by the ERO as valid voters are still not on the electoral roll. Why ? Because @ECISVEEP software is controlled in Delhi and couldn’t allegedly roll back the names that had been deleted for ‘logical discrepancies’ despite repeated mails from ERO! Will a software system decide voter eligibility? Bizarre beyond belief! indianexpress.com/article/ex…

Important: Is CEC Gyanesh Kumar a citizen of India? In the Delhi draft SIR electoral roll, CEC Gyanesh Kumar is shown as a voter. He is registered as Gyanesh Kumar, son of Subodh Kumar. If a person cannot be mapped to the last SIR in 2002/2003, they are flagged as a “logical discrepancy” & receive a notice. Now, Gyanesh Kumar was born in UP, is a Kerala cadre IAS officer, and has done postings in Delhi. So I searched for “Gyanesh Kumar, son of Subodh Kumar” in the last SIR for these 3 states. Shockingly, in all 3 states, there is NOBODY registered as Gyanesh Kumar, son of Subodh Kumar in the last SIR. Now, if such an entry doesn’t exist in previous SIR, his current name on voter list should be flagged as a “logical discrepancy” & he should’ve gotten a notice. So can the ECI pls clarify: - Which state’s previous SIR is CEC Gyanesh Kumar marked in? - Was Gyanesh Kumar a registered voter in 2002/2023? - If he’s missing from the last SIR in Kerala, Delhi, and UP, how is his name on the current voter list? - Has Gyanesh Kumar received a notice for “logical discrepancy” and for being an “unmapped voter”? Thank you in advance for your clarification. The country must know.

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all. A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue. A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310. These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it. The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored. A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone. #PublicHealth #GoodGovernance #Leadership #TukaramMundhe moneycontrol.com/news/busine…
