The older I get, the more I realize:
• No is a full sentence
• Being unbothered is a skill
• Silence is a response
• Most "urgent" things can wait
• Respect > Attention
• Apologies are empty without action
• Movement is medicine
• You're not for everyone, and that's fine
This was Steve Jobs’ favorite piece of art.
Here’s why:
Simplicity takes more time than complexity.
Picasso spent countless hours reworking these designs — starting with the most complex design and slowly simplifying.
Jobs did the same thing with Apple and built that as a central tenet of the ethos at the company.
He would come back to this series of 11 lithographs by Picasso for inspiration.
“It takes a lot of hard work to make something simple, to truly understand the underlying challenges and come up with elegant solutions.”
Simplicity scales much faster and more sustainably than complexity.
Takeaway:
Time spent thinking about what is at the core of something is time well spent.
To me, this visual is a great reminder that studying the essential nature of whatever you are working on always makes your work better.
We need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.
What are you trying to solve this year? What is the core of that issue?
I met this kid when he was 6.
This week, he won two gold medals.
How I met Ezra:
I run a foundation that honors my best friend who passed away over 20 years ago.
Ezra was born without a left fibula or knee, and we met him a few years after he was fitted with his first prosthetic.
He didn’t let it slow him down; he played basketball, soccer, and baseball throughout his childhood with boundless energy.
Together with my friend’s father and some close buddies, we decided to honor my friend’s memory.
We decided we'd support athletes with physical challenges and helping with educational costs.
Families raising kids with physical challenges face financial burdens that go far beyond healthcare.
As a small foundation, we knew we needed to find our own distinctive way to make an impact.
Ezra was our starting point, and we soon realized there were many more families like his.
Today, we’ve supported over 100 families with educational grants.
But truthfully, families like Ezra's inspire us more than we could ever help them.
Watching Ezra win two gold medals at the Paris Paralympics this week was unforgettable.
But he’s just getting started.
From Paris, he's heading straight to USC, where he’ll compete against able-bodied athletes in sprints, high jump, and long jump.
“People will be tuning in to USC track meets, seeing an above-the-knee amputee long jump and high jump, and going, ‘What the hell is happening right now? How is he doing that?’” he told the NCAA.
So, if you’re up against a challenge that feels impossible, remember this kid.
And keep watching him. He’s far from done.
I’ve been fortunate to watch this book come together behind the scenes.
I promise there is a series of incredibly valuable questions inside, regardless of where you are in life,
It hits hard.

I'm thrilled to announce that my first book—The 5 Types of Wealth—is officially available for preorder everywhere books are sold!
I believe this book is going to change millions of lives. Its ideas have already changed mine...
So, what is The 5 Types of Wealth all about?
It's about rejecting the default and living life by design.
It's about realizing that your wealthy life may involve money, but in the end, it will be defined by everything else.
In this book, I offer a new way for you to think about your life centered around five types of wealth:
• Time Wealth
• Social Wealth
• Mental Wealth
• Physical Wealth
• Financial Wealth
A new way to measure what matters, make better decisions, and design your life around the pillars that truly create lasting joy and fulfillment.
Importantly, this book will not give you the answers. It will give you the right questions, so that you can uncover and act on them.
While the lens through which you view them will be individual, the stories, questions, ideas, and tools contained in this book are universal.
No matter who you are, or where you are on your journey, this book is for you.
If you’ve enjoyed any of my work, you’re going to find immense value in this book. I guarantee it.
My humble ask: Preorders are extremely important for the success of a book—retailers use the data to determine buys, placement, and more—so I'd be truly grateful for your support as I continue on my mission to create millions of positive ripples in the world.

Having a #2 as a founder can unlock huge potential.
At each founder retreat I hosted this year with @sahilbloom, multiple attendees are drowning in opportunity.
And details. I've experienced it too.
Caffeine is not the only solution.
3 signs that you need a Chief of Staff:
In 2020, I was building multiple companies and had just acquired a new one that required me to be CEO.
I was drowning in details. I spent over half of each day on operational plans, managing follow-ups, and checking off items from what felt like an endless to-do list.
I was pounding a liter of black cold brew coffee a day.
I was constantly in back-to-back meetings.
I didn’t have any of the mental space to dig into the creative problems that I loved and my company needed me to solve.
I couldn’t keep going like this. I knew I needed help.
I had studied the Chief of Staff role as it transitioned from politics to start-ups and was intrigued.
I finally committed to hiring one and it was game changing. My work-life quality drastically improved.
Suddenly, my schedule had more structure and was more focused on high-leverage activities that gave me energy like creative problem-solving, strategic networking and partnerships.
I was able to 10x revenue for the company - an outcome that would have been impossible without my Chief of Staff.

At the past few The Inflection retreats, many of the founders were experiencing exponential growth.
They noted that they were feeling frustrated, stuck in details, approaching burnout, and unable to grow.
I kept seeing these same three signs that I had seen in myself:
1. You’re spending less than 80% of your time in your Zone of Genius.
2. You’re loading up on caffeine in advance of certain tasks that you don’t like.
3. There are big, compelling opportunities that you don’t have the chance to go after because your time is full of tasks that could be done by someone else.
These are the signs that you need a Chief of Staff.
Since then, I’ve helped multiple founders find and coach their Chiefs of Staff.
A Chief of Staff can 10x your productivity but only if you get the right Chief of Staff and you intentionally build the relationship.
It is like getting a marriage right. It takes intention, care, and sometimes, outside support to find your perfect rhythm.
After talking about this role more publicly, I’ve consistently received requests to assist fellow founders from The Inflection find their own Chief of Staff.
Every Batman needs a Robin.
