The difference is that the New York Times, which has a lot of credibility with left of center audiences, treated Alaska as a huge scandal while totally ignoring it in Nevada.

Speaking of Alaska, look what's happening in Nevada.
A shadow PAC with Republican ties is sending mailers promoting third-party candidate Danielle Ford as the “AOC of Nevada,” falsely implying she has AOC's support, apparently hoping to siphon votes from Democrat Aaron Ford.
AOC has never even spoken to Danielle Ford and is backing Aaron Ford.
All this talk about same name candidates but no one outside of Nevada is talking about the GOP/ Trump/ Team Lombardo propping up Danielle Ford in the closest gov race in the country against Aaron Ford.
Every race rater has NV Gov a toss up and this ploy could be a real spoiler.
