“Guy told me I should give feedback in a ‘compliment sandwich.’ There should be a compliment, some criticism, followed by another compliment. I said, ‘That’s not a compliment sandwich, man. You name the sandwich by the filling. That’s a criticism sandwich on compliment bread.’”
Baffling thing about Lorenz's ascent to the highest ranks of journalism is her reporting skills were... okay?
She never broke any signature scoops. She didn't have particularly keen insights and analysis. Wasn't an impressive writer. She just knew about TikTok before others and relentlessly self-promoted.
Internet-culture reporter and influencer @TaylorLorenz, who recently lamented her dismal earnings on YouTube and has sparred with the Bluesky set over AI, has rebranded herself, with a new YouTube channel specifically geared toward the pro-AI crowd techie crowd.
Doesn't surprise me that people buy Holmes' fake "maybe I'm autistic" shtick because we've spent the past 15 years allowing — encouraging, even — people to publicly weaponize their physical and mental health problems in precisely this way.
I don't have a single football fan friend who doesn't find Pat McAfee unbearably annoying.
Pat McAfee says he was "uncomfortable" during Utah College GameDay and alluded to the Charlie Kirk killing. This all comes after a school video of students commenting about him upset him.
Also said he might not show up if GameDay goes back there. nytimes.com/athletic/7727393…
America B is not the intended audience for YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING
Replying to @mcdermott
My theaters were far from sold out all week end. Evening 930pm show was empty. It's a cinephile rich white bougie thing
This movie was sold out all week at every theater in New York. Only got to see it because one theater added screenings and ran the film 12 times in a day.
DEVELOPING: You Can See Everything (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) is experiencing a historic box office surge, pushing away the usual sophomore drop-off seen in theaters. Backed by an expansion from 855 to 2,655 screens, the Nathan Fielder-Lance Oppenheim documentary brought in $6.1 million on its second Friday, breaking the all-time record for the highest second-Friday gross for a documentary in North American history. I think this movie has legs for a Best Picture Run at the Oscars.
I don’t understand the LinkedIn hate.
It’s a great reporting tool and every full-time job I’ve worked, I’ve found through LinkedIn. Just ignore the corny posts.
This woman was once considered the most important journalist of a generation.
I had editors tell me to emulate her.
Internet-culture reporter and influencer @TaylorLorenz does a collab with a male-fertility gummy company, Sperm Worms.
“It’s delicious!” Lornenz gushes of the pineapple flavored product. “I’m gonna be so fertile!”
Question: How much of this is due to Anthony Bourdain transforming the image of a line cook into a renegade cowboy poet?
