no but the premise of demonic possession as a metaphor for SA and the running theme throughout of all the ways misogyny and objectification ruin girls' ability to have agency and awareness of their own desires. don't think enough people appreciate the true sadness of this movie.
Amanda Seyfried says the marketing for Jennifer’s Body ruined what she considers a perfect movie. Amanda Seyfried: “I can’t critique this movie. To me, it’s a perfect movie. It’s got balls.” “Diablo Cody was outspoken and beautiful and smart and funny, and we were expressing a certain angst in a very, very specific comedic way, in a very specific genre.” “The special effects were incredible. There were stunts, there was, like, everything that you could want, and girl-on-girl action.” “If the critics criticized anything, it would be the marketing. The marketing sucked. It just did. And we all agree.” “Karyn is a fierce advocate of women and storytelling. She’s able to enhance the relationships between women on film and TV. She’s very human and very sensitive, and I felt like she cared deeply about the story underneath all of it.” “She got it all and she put it together so beautifully. And the marketing team cheapened it. Like it was just, you know, a romp, a gory romp. I think they ruined it.” “I’m looking forward to the sequel. They’re working on it. I already said thumbs up. I was like, whenever you’re ready, I’m ready.” “I want to play Needy. I love Needy.”

Rachel berry was a narcissist who constantly played victim whenever she couldn't get her way, she constantly put others down because she thought she was superior to them and threw a fit when someone told her no
Santana Lopez was majorly a bully on glee but y'all found it fun. Rachel Berry didn't even do half of what Santana did but y'all hated her majorly because she had audacity and talent.

Rachel said Tina wasn't good enough to sing a solo, told Mercedes it wasn't "crunk club" when she wanted to sing songs by Black artists and sent Sunshine to a crackhouse. At least Santana had good character development, Rachel was continually rewarded for being a trash individual

you really just can’t talk about glee critically without taking into account the metanarrative of who ryan murphy liked (lea and cory in first tier, darren in 2nd tier) vs who he actively intended to viciously humiliate (chris, dianna, amber, naya, etc etc etc etc

My dad used to call me a crybaby when I was a little baby, like 5. I learned VERY young that he found me crying disgusting and invalidating of anything I said while crying, so I learned to approach feelings conversations with him like I was meeting w/the board of directors, at 10
the thing abt “men aren’t allowed to cry” is that women aren’t really allowed to either. women get mocked and berated for crying, and their momentary tears are used to justify their exclusion from “serious” workplaces, environments and activities

the funniest contradiction in capitalism is that every individual company wants to pay workers less and charge customers more, but the entire economy needs those same workers to have enough money to buy things. everybody wants a customer nobody wants to pay one

The middle class wasn't a natural outcome. It was a concession, made when elites feared revolt. Now the concession is gone, and we're slowly being pushed back toward serfdom while we argue about avocado toast.

Capitalism has warped ppl’s perception of the world so badly that they think extreme selfishness n greed are normal. They’re not. The idea that someone should go without food, shelter, or healthcare simply because they can’t afford it is deeply disturbing.

Intersectionality is dead because each minority thinks their oppression is The Worst One and are too busy doing a dick measuring contest to actually come together and do literally fucking anything to help eachother

none of this normal btw. the fact an average house is priced 10x our salaries instead of 3x, the fact that grocery prices are at an all time high, the fact that it’s becoming impossible to find a job. none of it’s normal and stop letting the older generations gaslight you into thinking it is

Women in that past literally had their brains mutilated against their wills if their emotions were too inconvenient for the men society had decided they belonged to

women choosing not to marry isn't a crisis. Women choosing not to have children isn't a crisis. Women choosing not to date isn't a crisis. A society that only functions when women cannot comfortably say "no" is the crisis.

Especially chronic depression. There really is a time limit to other people's sympathy. They really just expect you to just get better and move on. When you don't, you're selfish cause you're an inconvenience to everyone around you. And don't you dare kill yourself you pos!!!
Actually, NOBODY likes you when you're depressed. Plain and simple. We can talk all day about MENTAL HEALTH and how important it is but the moment you are depressed, people really start to distance themselves. They see you as NEGATIVE, a BURDEN, and someone too HEAVY to handle.
