Figured it might be time to reintroduce my professional self a bit, though with this account who knows what I'll post on...😅
For the last 30 years I’ve spent my time around businesses, technology, operations, leadership, entrepreneurship, and a lot of problem solving.
Some of that time was spent in executive leadership roles, some in startups and small business, some teaching, some advising, and a lot of it getting into the trench with owners and leaders figuring out how to make things work better.
Over the years I’ve helped companies grow, reorganize, improve operations, navigate change, and some work through extremely difficult periods. I’ve also had the chance to help a bunch of entrepreneurs get started for the first time.
One thing I’ve learned through all of it:
To fix the majority of business problems, it requires clarity, accountability, excellent management, and a willingness to confront reality honestly and quickly.
That realization is what eventually led me to develop a two part business governance system: Foundational Thinking and the SIMPL Method.
Today I spend most of my time:
-advising companies
- operating a few businesses
- teaching entrepreneurship
- working on nonprofit/community efforts
- and helping business owners think through growth, operations, leadership, and organizational challenges
I hate hustle culture. I’m here on X because I genuinely enjoy helping people succeed.
If you’re building something meaningful, going through change, stuck at an inflection point, or just enjoy thoughtful conversations around business and leadership, I’m always happy to connect.
Clarity drives the best results.
It's not easy. It takes a ton of resources, focus, and energy.
Companies are notorious for "strategically" implementing new tech into cost centers.
Only the truly exceptional turn it into new sustainable revenue.
I spent executive career trying to find and work with these types of firms. The ones that truly saw/see tech as a strategic differentiator and competitive advantage.
The truth? They are few and far between.
Also, even for the great ones as the new business matures the advantage is usually only sustainable for a few years before it's pivoted back into a cost center.

It was a great night at the Garner Holt Fast Pitch where we selected the final 5 out of 200 to pitch next week for $11k in prize money. – at Redlands, CA
So... I know folks hate the idea of socialism, but we have reached that tax bracket percentile where there should be a lot more free/discounted services for way more people.
If consultants, advisors, and educator's taught the simple principle based solutions necessary to solve complex problems they would be fired.
Often the expert trap is what you end up paying for.
When tech is used as a cost cutting tool the benefit is marginal.
When it's used strategically to increase revenue and optimize performance it's rare. This was/is my specialty.
The fact they mention revenue per employee but not layoffs is pure vanity.
Buy what you want today but $VOO on the dip is probably your best option?
Ok...
Which bot platform is best to implement as my SMB implementor/operator after I have it buy a local service company?
My plan is to be the visionary behind the keyboard.
The funny thing about AI, they will rachet up the prices and you will pay.

Totally understand, I paid $42 for 2 Fiji waters and a pastry at a stop in Vegas.
Also, $400 for a steak, a couple sides, and a cocktail at Peter Luger's (it was delish).
