Every morning, I think yesterday couldn't have been worse. Then another day arrives, bringing even more heartbreak.
This is the life I chose, and despite everything, I would choose it again. 💔
This morning, while I was dealing with a donkey case alongside the SPCA, nine tiny puppies arrived at our sanctuary.
Barely a week old. Their mother had been poisoned.
People used to throw stones at her. Imagine her life on those streets — hunger, fear, cold nights, and nine babies waiting for her.
Perhaps every other day she searched for food and found only stones. This time, she found chicken feet. They were poisoned.
Her body was taken away, leaving her newborn babies to die.
We collect dead dogs almost daily. How many more mothers must die?
But these nine orphans found something beautiful. ❤️ One of our sanctuary mothers accepted them alongside her own puppies. We will hand-feed both litters, protecting her health while she gives them the motherly warmth they desperately need.
Some mothers are fortunate enough to reach us alive with their babies. Please help us sterilise them, breaking this endless cycle of suffering.

💔 Two completely different worlds. One mother and her newborn babies.
Just hours ago, this helpless mother was lying beside a garbage dump, under the open sky, desperately trying to keep her newborns warm as freezing winter nights approach.
With mass dog killings taking place, her life was in danger too.
Now look at her. ❤️
🐾 A warm, safe room instead of a garbage corner.
🛏️ Soft blankets instead of freezing ground.
❤️ Safety, comfort and peace instead of fear.
Look into her eyes. You can almost see the relief. 🥹

💔 Ronnie cannot even stand up without help. How can anyone expect him to pull a cart again?
Remember Ronnie, who collapsed while pulling a vegetable cart? His back is so badly affected that he still needs help getting up.
Yet his owner, who himself walks with crutches, keeps coming and demanding Ronnie back. Today, even the media contacted us, request us to return him.
Ronnie is NOT fit for work. We cannot let him suffer again! 🫏💔
We've appealed repeatedly for help, but we're still nowhere near our target.
🛺 A specially adapted rickshaw for his disabled owner, or
🏪 A small grocery shop to provide him with an alternative livelihood.
Please help us give Ronnie the retirement he desperately deserves, without leaving his owner without an income.

A mother and her baby desperately need your help. 💔🫏
Today, an elderly donkey arrived at our sanctuary with her baby boy, barely a year old. Her condition was horrifying.
Both ears were severely swollen and infested with maggots. Deep holes had formed in both shoulders, with bone visibly exposed.
The cause? The very harness meant to protect her. Its broken fittings and enormous exposed screws had been digging into her bones. Imagine the agony this poor old mother endured!
Her owner came only for treatment. We begged him to admit her, but he refused. After heated arguments, he finally agreed—provided he could take her baby to pull the same deadly cart that had destroyed his mother's body!
The baby is far too young and tiny even to fit that cart. I couldn't allow it. After shouting, pleading and involving local villagers, we managed to keep them both.
Then came the most beautiful transformation. ❤️
Look at them outside our gates—terrified, heads lowered, eyes closed. Now look at them just minutes inside!
The baby found himself surrounded by donkeys his own age, like a child arriving at a playground with a football, delighted to find so many friends!
His elderly mother walked straight to the food trolley, eating so confidently and peacefully, as though she'd lived here forever. This was barely ten minutes after arriving!
Outside our gates, fear and suffering. Inside, safety, friendship and peace. This is the life they deserve, not that deadly cart.
But their freedom is only temporary. 💔
The owner may return tomorrow demanding them back. He doesn't want a motorised cart, as he only uses his donkey to collect fodder, not for business.
This elderly mother can never return to that harness, and her baby is far too young to work. We must secure their permanent release.
Please, can you help us save them for good?

When she was abandoned at our shelter, her body was so badly affected that we couldn’t even show you the worst of it.
Daily medicated baths. Treatment. Good food. Endless care.
And now look at her. 🥹
She is healing — but she still has a long way to go, and once strong enough, she needs to be spayed.

I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. A volunteer writes: Trucker hasn't had the easiest time as of late, but this cat is all kinds of perfect and resolutely hoping that things will turn his way. He's a diabetic senior who was found and taken in pretty recently but brought to us a few weeks later due to a no pet policy. During Trucker's time in a home, he knew he was loved. Trucker would sit on his guardian's lap and gently paw at their face for more pets. Trucker's still trying to find those cuddles by stretching his paws through the door and calling out invitations to anyone walking nearby. Playful and sweet, he only wants to be included and he's absolutely right to keep trying because, truth be told, Trucker does need to work a tiny bit harder to stand out but stand out he does. He's a bit older and has his medical concerns, but he also has his heart and I think that's enough to make him one of the brightest kitties around. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
