NASA’s competitive, fixed‑price process chose SpaceX because the proposals were both technically strongest and most economical, and for astronaut transport, Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon are currently the only system that meets NASA’s full human‑rating and safety standards for regular crewed flights to the ISS
