Thx @thejustinwalsh!
🤖 I just applied for the @encodeclub's AI and GPT Bootcamp! Sounds interesting? You too can apply here:

I feel like listening to BODR while consolidating my exploits from 20 years ago is bullet-shaving a wormhole. Too much nostalgia - can I make this a full-time job??

Now that I have achieved my childhood dream of never growing up - where can I find one?? TG16 was the first console I bought with *my* money, the TurboExpress was a teenage dream deferred
For me it was the triumphant, "My mom said I'd never get anywhere with these games!" Game dev breakthrough 👆🏽
@dwsjason I am frantically currently digging through boxes in my garage yo find my PS2. Did you know about this release?? github.com/iaddis/SNESticle
I've been up for ~2 days laughing and smiling at our ad hoc 20-year "reunion" of #ps2dev pillars on the scene's Discord. Much 🖤 to the PS2 Scene that defined and launched my career in games! Excited to reunite and check out the phenomenal group of today 👉🏽discord.gg/m2GX9Btp

I retrieved one or secretly kept one 🤔 I should be able to post most of it later today. Looking for PSP currently
You had gone all the way with UMCD(R?), correct? I remember some sort of drama. Sjeep cannot possibly still be mad 20 years later?! 👀😅
There's a separate one for pspdev: discord.gg/3HdmeQA4
Any issues with these going up to GitHub? I'd love to help with the transfer, if needed. Side note: Is anyone doing any sort of ps2dev or pspdev today? Outside of us middle-aged farts on the rem. bump 🙌🏽 @oobles @enbylenore @Drakonite @tiraniddo @psxdev

I've been interested in this use case specifically. Do you have the code up where I may take a look?
No one told me 😳😂
A small weekend project. Pulled 10year old archive of forums.ps2dev.org and put them online. :) Please tag anyone that might have been a member.
6/6 The ordeal makes me wonder what else happens behind the scenes when exploits are discovered and published. Was I wrong for hacking PSP while licensed on PS2? Not legally. I didn't leak keys nor enable piracy. Of course today I would disclose (in '03 data/privacy weren't)
5/6 I was required to sign the OP agreement with Budcat. It wasn't enough. Budcat ported games and wasn't viable w/out a PS3 license. Sony's bottom line: I shouldn't touch their tech, period. Activision was purchasing Budcat but couldn't push them to back down, and I was fired
4/6 Sony's beef was that how dare I hack their new system while being licensed for another? How could my employer be so irresponsible? I wasn't under NDA while hacking PS2, and Budcat had yet to acquire a PSP license. I had no advanced knowledge of either system. Not fair game?
3/6 The PS2 hack landed my first job: making games at Budcat in 2004. Budcat held a license for developing on PS2. The PSP released later that year; I participated in breaking open the 1.0 via flashrom. Sony denied Budcat from getting PS3 or PSP licenses until we met with them
2/6 In 2003, I applied to SCEA (all @PlayStation today) to become a compiler engineer. The interview went well, but they declined. In August 2003, I released an exploit to run unsigned code on PS2 w/no modchip, PS2 Independence
1/6 WITNESSETH! A thread with history of how Sony had treated us "hackers" in the past. Sony attempted to drive me out of games for years for legally opening the PS2 and PSP. This "agreement" went down before the George Hotz lawsuit on PS3. I'll add the background in the thread

ALT Riley Russell was telling his friends/connections all about this agreement, outside of Sony. I later had heard from Budcat that Sony told Nintendo I was hacking their systems. I had never publicly released any hacks for any Nintendo system. I was working on a Wii game as a lead programmer when I was told about the lie.
