1/14 Victim's of the #LoanCharge scandal may want to share this thread, with facts & evidence, to their MPs before the Loan Charge back bench debate on 18th Jan. Please get your MP to attend & ask them to speak up on your behalf. It is truly shocking how we have been treated.

It wasnโ€™t independent or a review of the Loan Charge (or Loan Charge Scandal). Nor will it resolve mattersโ€ฆas the Treasury & HMRC are starting to realise..,

TOMORROW I GO TO UK PARLIAMENT Tomorrow, 2 November, I will walk into the whistleblower summit of the @appgonifandffs on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services. I have 60 seconds to speak. The event asks why we must protect the wellbeing of whistleblowers. It is dedicated to the memory of Simon Andriesz @SAndriesz. I wrote an eight-minute speech and practised it. Then came the message. So many people wanted to speak that we needed to share the time. My slot is now one minute. Cutting eight minutes to 60 seconds was hard. But I understand. Every person in that room has a story that deserves to be heard. For my minute, I chose Simon, who spent 35 years working in financial markets. My own fight with @rsagroup Insurance, @IntactInsurance UK and the Financial Ombudsman Service @financialombuds gets its turn next time. On 2 November, it is about Simon and the disgraceful way @theFCA treated him. In August, his friend John Robertson @J_Robertson_UK put us in touch. Simon contacted me and we spoke. I wrote about his case and published it on 12 August. It got some attention. On 23 September, Simon took his own life. Two days later, I posted about his death on X. That post received more than 700k views. On 4 October, Congressman @RepThomasMassie quoted it, bringing another 800k views. Newspapers picked up the story. It reached people around the world. Then came the Financial Conduct Authorityโ€™s promise of a review. MPs called for an independent investigation. The first question at the FCA Annual Public Meeting was about Simon. Simon had spent years trying to get the regulator, the courts and the press to listen. After his death, his story reached a worldwide audience. Then came the responses he had needed while he was alive. That is a disgrace. Tomorrow, we will talk about protecting whistleblowersโ€™ wellbeing. That starts with how we respond when someone asks us to listen. My inbox is full of messages from whistleblowers and people who have suffered wrongdoing. Behind each message is a person waiting for someone to take them seriously. A reply takes 2 minutes. For someone who has spent years being ignored, it can mean a lot. If a whistleblower writes to you, answer them. Make time for the conversation while they are here to have it. Tomorrow, I have 60 seconds. I will use them to ask people to remember Simon Andriesz, and to listen to those still asking for help. If this moves you, share his name. @stevemiddi1 @appgonifandffs @andyverity @jameshurley @MLorrM @Wftproof @JohnCleese @J_Robertson_UK @nw_nicholas @sharmilaxx @johncock_wayne @TransparencyTF

May those who live, work or holiday on top of this have nightmares about what lies beneath them. May they imagine the cries of the dying and may it keep them awake at night.
The Gaza Strip, Israel are bulldozing it, pouring sand over all the bodies then building on top of it. While the world does nothing.

Have the Trumps completely lost their sense of political responsibility? Soviet military symbols in the White House while Russia continues killing Ukrainians. On October 29, during a White House Halloween celebration, a boy dressed as a Soviet tank soldier received candy from Donald and Melania Trump. The First Lady smiled and took an interest in his military cap. I understand that these are children wearing Halloween costumes. My outrage is not directed at them. But for Ukrainians, Soviet military symbols are not just historical costumes. They represent memories of repression, occupation, deportations, and violence. Today, the Kremlin continues to exploit the Soviet legacy to justify its aggression against Ukraine. And now we are seeing these symbols inside the White House. Russian state media are already circulating this footage. For Kremlin propaganda, it is a gift. The problem is not that a child was given candy. The problem is the political symbolism and how it can be exploited to normalize Russian imperial narratives. While Ukrainian children are being killed by Russian strikes, while Ukrainian families live under constant bombardment, and while civilians remain trapped under Russian occupation, these images are particularly painful to witness. What outrages me is how easily Soviet military symbolism can become part of a festive White House spectacle without any meaningful historical context. Donald and Melania Trump, do you understand how Russian propaganda exploits images like these? We have every right to demand historical awareness, political responsibility, and consistency from American leadership when it comes to Russian aggression. Because while Halloween is being celebrated at the White House, Ukrainians are still burying their loved ones. Ukraine needs more than symbolic gestures. It needs real security guarantees, international accountability for war crimes, and a just peace. And no propaganda image should ever overshadow that reality. #Ukraine #WhiteHouse #Trump #MelaniaTrump #RussianPropaganda #SovietHistory #RussianAggression #StandWithUkraine

So proud to have written this movie. It did not get the fate it deserved. But I will always love it. And will always be so grateful for the masterful performances of its cast.

2/3 as a direct result of the RAVAS campaign and a complaint I made to the EU Commission. Today The Chancellor John Healey announced measures to make Online Marketplaces collect VAT on sales in the UK which is another limb of the long running RAVAS campaign.

3/3 This is welcome and RAVAS has been involved in consultations with both HMRC and Treasury Officials over the last year which has been a positive experience. We don't think the measures go far enough and that they still leave room for abuse but it is definitely a positive step

41 referrals.11 suicides.00's acts of serious self harm. And we're STILL letting HMRC mark their own homework? How many referrals, suicides or acts of self harm are too many before someone gives the matter serious consideration? #loanchargesuicides #loanchargescandal #loancharge
HMRC has made 41 referrals to the police watchdog involving Loan Charge cases of serious injury or loss of life. It investigated every one internally. It found no misconduct, every time.

Great to see that my local MP @SarahGreenLD attended this talk. It's imperative that oversight of @HMRCgovuk is drastically overhauled. It's equally critical that we see some momentum behind a #TaxpayerBillOfRights to protect taxpayers from tyranny @loanchargeAPPG @taxwatch

Read this twice "There are [have been] NO convictions of loan scheme promoters". I.E. the organisations who are known to have made billions by mis-selling payroll schemes to real workers, while HMRC watched silently until many years later trying to ruin those same workers
Finally we have some honesty from @hmtreasury. There are NO convictions of loan scheme promoters. So the reality is that @HMRCgovuk are simply going after individuals & demanding unpayable sums with no appeal leading to bankruptcies, breakdowns & suicides. #LoanChargeScandal

Wishing @SueFlood52 a full and speedy recovery. Sue gave evidence on the Ark pension scam at the Loan Charge and Taxpayer Fairness APPG in Westminster on 20 Oct. She collapsed early the next morning. Victims shouldn't have to carry this fight alone.
Replying to @SueFlood52
@SueFlood52 has been a tenacious campaigner for many years and she has done a superb job raising awareness of the lived experience of pension scam victims. I've had the privilege of getting to know Sue well and I know she has always given 100% of herself for the benefit of others; she's a true inspiration, and always so impactful when she speaks about the plight of the victims. So to learn of this development is very sad. I just hope Sue makes a full and speedy recovery. Very best wishes to you, friend; and all the other victims working together to make a difference to others.

Yesterday, I asked in my article whether somebody in the White House or SpaceX could be doing the unthinkable and deliberately restricting Ukraineโ€™s military capabilities to benefit Russia. Now Elon is spewing this Kremlin propaganda. I think I have my answerโ€ฆ..
Whatโ€™s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latterโ€™s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

There seems to be a direct correlation between how badly Trump is doing and how often he abuses a reporter (invariably a woman) for asking a perfectly legitimate question. And it feels heโ€™s losing his shit more and more often, which suggests things are getting worse and worse
๐ŸšจNEW: Donald Trump lashes out at NBC reporter: Q: Do the sexual allegations mean nothing to you? Trump: โ€œQUIET! Isnโ€™t she a fresh person? Youโ€™re a horrible little reporter.โ€ (The reporter who press Trump on the sexual allegations was @albamonica)
