Overwhelming majority of working class in Nigeria earn far less than the ₦70,000 minimum wage.
They are definitely not on the list of those to collect ₦70k transport allowance.
Who among federal civil service workers that would receive the funds is unknown.
Nothing is as disturbing as hearing that the TUC chair Festus Osifo lives in the US & leads the union remotely.
This is conflict of interest on steroids.
No wonder he supports Tinubu's IMF programs.
Retaking & rebuilding the Ngrn trade union centres is major task for Ngrn workers
"TUC president lives in the US" - Ajaero NLC chair
This is what we mean by the union leaderships are detached completely from the working class they are supposed to lead.
Thanks to the corrupt war between them, they are exposing themselves.
Ngrn workers need to retake the unions.
He (Festus Osifo) is an absentee president of the TUC; he doesn't live in Nigeria. He comes in from the United States to attend meetings and rush back.
-President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, accuses the TUC president of being an absent president

ALL the presidential candidates offer no way forward to making fuel affordable. This reinforce the position that the 2027 elections offers no way forward.
Without outright NATIONALIZATION of commanding heights of economy under democratic management, there's no show!

The fact is Ebola has found a new home. Tinubu's IMF programs has created the perfect conditions for ebola to grow in Nigeria.
🚨 PRESS STATEMENT
NCDC is working with the Adamawa State Government to investigate two suspected Ebola cases reported in Yola, which were isolated and tested. Samples turned out NEGATIVE for Ebola virus after two rounds of testing.
The index case previously confirmed in the FCT remains the only confirmed case reported in Nigeria to date.
The public is urged to remain calm and obtain information from official government and public health channels.
Anyone experiencing symptoms such as fever, severe weakness, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding, particularly following relevant exposure, should seek immediate medical attention and inform healthcare workers of any relevant travel or contact history.
The point is slavery has NOT ended. It was upgraded not ended.
The working class still forced to produce the wealth of the society & still doesn't own it. It's still alienated from what it produced.
The struggle for social liberation from capitalist slavery is far from over.
Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.
It's very important for this generation to note that:
Nigeria has NEVER increased workers minimum wage since the ₦125.00 minimum wage of 1980s.
It is been wage cut, not wage increase since then.
The value of ₦125 remains far higher than ₦70,000.
Go verify.
When 2 thieves fight, they tend to expose themselves.
Nigerian workers can't only shut down the country, they can kick out Tinubu & the IMF.
It's elements like Osifo & Ajaero that undermine the movement.
Workers MUST reclaim the unions by kicking them out.
We knew that it was 419 allowance all along.
There's just no alternative to Nigerian workers reclaiming their unions by kicking out & breaking with corrupt union leaderships & rebuilding the unions.
It has been one selling out after another under Joe Ajero-NLC & Felix Osifo-TUC.
They call it the people's IPO, meanwhile, the total share of people's share is just 3.3%! While Dangote & the bourgeois got the remaining 96.7%
2 million subscribers own & have only 3.3% of votes, while Dangote alone own & has 84% of the company & executive votes.
Do the maths.
Dangote’s IPO is being presented as an opportunity for Nigerians. But who really benefits?

We know that Tinubu's ₦70k is nugatory, another 419 award that's going nowhere. It's more of a product NLC leaders getting settled for Tinubu's re-election.
However, TUC chair's position is ridiculous & not sincere to say the least.
Ngrn workers need to reclaim the unions.
N70k allowance: It’s improper to reject what you didn’t ask for, NLC tells TUC
Joe Ajaero, president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), says the decision of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to reject the federal government’s N70,000 transport allowance for public sector workers is “improper”.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, Ajaero said officials of the TUC did not negotiate with the federal government on the subject.

Because the leaderships of the 2 labour centres in Ngr, NLC & TUC, are detached from their rank & file workers & are corrupt, they tend wage reactionary wars against themselves not in the interests of workers but to defend their opportunistic interests.
Worker retake ur unions!
You don't need to negotiate minimum wage before the government would intervene in the plight of workers. Not at all. Increments in salary and minimum wage are very different.

The scapegoating of poor immigrants in South Africa by neo-fascists (March & March) would fail to produce jobs & change the country. That the Marxist Left has said.
Reality is going to teach the masses some hard lessons in the coming period.
If true, total foreign debt would increase by ₦29 trillion to over ₦104 trillion!
Meaning overall national debt would surpass ₦200 trillion!
If Tinubu's IMF 'reforms' were working, why new loans?
Tinubu, his IMF reforms & capitalism MUST GO!
There is NO other way forward!
President Bola Tinubu has written to the National Assembly seeking approval for the Federal Government’s 2026–2027 supplementary external borrowing plan.
The plan, valued at $20.5 billion and €1.45 billion, is intended to fund critical infrastructure, agriculture, education and other key sectors of the economy in line with the administration’s development priorities.

Things are bound to get cruder as US imperialism decays.

Operation Blackout is taking the fight directly to the international cybercriminal networks stealing billions from Americans.
Our latest operation in Nigeria delivered:
9 ARRESTS.
53 electronic devices seized.
$11 MILLION in potentially freezable funds identified across multiple countries.
These scam centers exploit innocent victims, steal life savings, and operate across international borders believing they are beyond the reach of law enforcement.
They’re wrong.
Thanks to Nigerian law enforcement and our partners in London for their outstanding cooperation.
To the criminals targeting Americans from overseas: JUSTICE WILL FIND YOU.
It's very important that we acknowledge that it's the TUC president that is insisting on Tinubu's IMF program of fuel price hike.
99% of TUC workers can't cope with the insane hikes.
Without workers booting out such corrupt leaderships, more hardship.

Bayo Onanuga would never share the opinion of a union leader that is not their agent.
The NLC & TUC national leadership are the secret weapons of Tinubu & the IMF, particularly the current leadership of Osifo & Ajero.
They have made sure that Nigerian workers are demobilized.
TUC president defending Tinubu's fuel price hikes here.😳
Since the first general strike in 1940s, Ngrn workers have had to remove hopelessly corrupt union leaders like this in order to have unions that can defend their interest.
Osifo clearly doesn't represent TUC workers.
If you decide to give our left over of about 700,000 barrels crude to refineries at cost of production in the name of subsidy, the question is; how are you going to fund workers salaries, fund the military and police, build roads, build hospitals and manage health crisis?
