Each of us is the child on the left. But most of us don't realise it. We hold onto the small ways in which the world is unfair to us personally, and extrapolate. Recognising our privelege is the first step towards the ultimate goal of Justice. #CheckYourPrivilege

Jantar Mantar is not a physical space in the Capital. Every road, street and lane where dissent and protest are expressed is Jantar Mantar. Every protesting, questioning and dissenting mind is Jantar Mantar. Hyderabad, October 24, 2026

Fact check! All borewells around Bansilalpet stepwell have water at 35 to 40 ft BGL even today There are some confined and disconnected aquifers because of the geology in adjacent streets may have deeper water. They can improve with RWH.

100% agree. Fiction gently guides you into someone else's shoes, and that gives you a perspective that can't be replicated by a dozen self help books
People who say "fiction is a waste of time" usually have zero imagination. You’re not wasting time just because a book isn't giving you 5 actionable bullet points on how to make money. Understanding human nature, empathy, and how people tick matters way more.

Why do victims of sexual abuse not come forward? Because even fifty years after the trauma, women like Vimal Patil will gaslight you.

We think she is privileged, and she is. But despite her privilege, she has been the target of crass mysoginistic attacks, and she has emerged from them with her dignity and empathy intact. This is a book I really look forward to reading.
A new chapter, a new way of sharing stories. ❤️ The first look of Belonging: A Journey of Love, a story that explores love, duty, loss and the search for a place to call home. The book will be out on Nov 10th. instagram.com/reel/DeyJ8QEt3…

Why is #KolaBeagle angry? Not merely because humans are trying to take back a stolen sock. But also because her fellow-beagle is in a cage and she has heard that beagles, which are tested, tortured and experimented on in labs worldwide because they are good-natured and "perfectly sized for humans to hold and control while experimenting", may go through more of this again in India. The Govt of India's Animal Husbandry Department, has published Draft Rules that put the lives of beagles and other animals at risk, pushing India back into the 50s. The October 2026 "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Control and Supervision of Experiment, Breeding and Trading of Laboratory Animals) Rules, 2026" weakens oversight and endangers laboratory and stray animals. severe. It shifts oversight so that a facility's own "animal ethics committee" can approve mild and moderate tests and experiments on animals, rather than requiring centralized clearance. I already have it. It is called a phone. People think I’m glued to no phone, but often it’s just an ebook I’m reading. You need this only if you want others to know you are reading

I just don't understand why some of our airports do this. I would think that they would want more people inside so the concessionaires get extra business!
Bangalore airport. Departures. First guard told me I can't enter bcos my flight was more than 8 hours away, pls go to Arrivals and come back in 2 hours' time. I said pls Sahib I'm tired as balls. No, Mr Tourist, these are the rules and besides the hall is too crowded now. Please sir? Can I go in, look at me I'm a mess dragging my broken bag and I don't wanna go to frickin Arrivals. Sorry. These are the rules. Come back in 2 hours' time. So I walked 100 feet to another entrance, and know what the guard over there did? He let me in. 🤣

This is what happens after you are detained- and yet people continue to protest. Says a lot about the growing frustration, doesn't it? newslaundry.com/2026/10/14/w…

The monsoon got over barely a month back and buildings have already started buying tanker water. @HMWSSBOnline shouldn’t you question why Telangana is getting new AI Data Centres when we don’t have water to drink?
