Thanks Ged!
Zooming in to @LordNigelCrisp book launch from home. Really quite an inspirational bloke who hasn’t let retirement from the top job in the NHS curb his enthusiasm for social inclusion and health a wellbeing for all
This conclusion is terribly flawed. Comparing underfunded poorly managed public health services with privately run services. Previously Uganda run highly used free public services resulting in closures of many private providers. Impoverished payers sold land and livestock.
Can you believe this, wrt maternity services in Uganda:
"The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has recommended that the government drops the public free healthcare system".

It was a pleasure joining @DrTedros for the joint IMF-WHO #COVID19 briefing. @WHO is there to help protect the health of people, and the IMF to help protect the health of the world economy. Working together, we will save lives and protect livelihoods.
#COVID19 is much more than a health crisis - it has profound social & economic consequences as well. I am glad @KGeorgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), joined our media briefing today. The IMF is a key partner to protect lives & livelihoods.
