Looks like @opengeometry has got competition. And it’s NVIDIA.
Check out usd-brep by @nvidiaomniverse
They’re cooking, and we believe we are cooking harder and can take this even further.
That’s the fun of competition. The bar keeps rising, and when we build in the open, the whole industry gets more to build on.
Open source is the future of CAD. Seeing NVIDIA invest in a geometry kernel makes me even more confident in the direction we’ve taken.
Meanwhile, the CAD industry still has another subscription to sell you!
We are coming, and we will change that radically with @getploterr. Toolkits are already out, next is our app!
Let’s give people more to build with.

Floorkit 1.1.0 is now ready for your agents.
In just one week, we’re already moving fast.
You and your agent should be able to inspect the design, adjust it, and undo changes. You should also be able to keep working on it yourself.
People and agents should work on the same saved building project.
This release includes 👇
Agent Commands
Batch Operations
Project Structure
Versioning
Your app brings the AI model. Floorkit provides the building tools and geometry.

Let your agents build the next CAD app.
We released Floorkit this week, and someone already used an agent to help build their own CAD app with it. Humans and agents are both building with Floorkit.
@advancedcskills built a test app, manually traced architectural drawings, and made an editable model with scaled plans in a single afternoon.
You know what your workflow needs. We want to put the ability to build it in your hands. Let's see what we can create collectively.
Try Floorkit, give your agent the documentation and tell it what you want to build. It's that simple!
Let's see what unfolds. If you or your team is building a CAD app, this one's for you.
Built on @opengeometry. More toolkits are coming from the @getploterr family!

Yes, we reinvented the wheel.
Funny how “don’t reinvent the wheel” can start to sound like “rent ours instead.”
Should someone else’s roadmap decide where your ideas stop?
For us, that foundation is geometry. We built it ourselves because we wanted control over how it works, what it can become, and where we take it next.
That meant taking responsibility for it too. But the decision is paying off. We’re developing faster because we can change the foundation itself.
Floorkit is one result of that decision. Built on the @opengeometry kernel, it gives you the tools to build your own browser-based CAD authoring app.
Making it available was our first milestone. @getploterr is what we’re building next on that foundation.
We’re bootstrapping this, and seeing people try it, share it, and build with it means a lot to us. To everyone who’s supported us along the way, thank you for helping us get here.
Now I want to see what you build. What workflow have you been waiting for someone else to fix?
The first milestone was to prove something. The next is to conquer.
See you at the next milestone.

Be ready, we’re launching the toolkit for architects.
Take control of how you design.
Bring your own LLMs. Turn ideas into plans.
Go from prompt to geometry to drawings.
Shape the workflow around the way you want to design.
Build your own tools, connect the pieces, and let the toolkit handle the rest.
Release goes out this weekend. Sign up for updates.

Yes, we used Astra to do this.
Introducing styles to Floorplans!
But here is the twist. Astra did not draw a single wall or generate the SVG itself.
It decided what to create and called the @opengeometry API.
OpenGeometry handled the geometry and rendering.

Introducing @getploterr.
The tools we use to design and build physical infrastructure need to evolve.
We’ve spent the last few months building the core using @opengeometry.

Do you see this drawing? It costs more than $4000 per year.
It depends on where you generate this drawing. If you generate it using existing tools, it is upwards of $1000 and can go as high as $4000.
This PDF is generated using @opengeometry!
We are working on our own app and changing the dynamics!

Yes, we used AI.
To build this demo and pair it with the @OpenGeometry SDK, along with @threejs.
Before anyone complains about the layout, I am talking about the capabilities.
AI is not the interesting part anymore.
The interesting part is that a small team can now build CAD software that used to require entire companies.
Yes, we are building our own app. Site planning. Massing. Floor plans. Drawings. A pinch of AI.
The demo is AI-assisted.
The geometry engine is not.
That distinction is about to matter a lot.
We are building a very different kind of AEC software.
You don't need yearly licenses, not even for the app we are building.

We started with a simple question.
Why is creating software for physical buildings still so difficult?
The deeper we went, the more obvious it became.
Every CAD app depends on a Geometry Kernel.
And nothing out there felt built for the future we wanted.
So we wrote our own @opengeometry
Actual geometry infrastructure designed for modern CAD and AI workflows.

Not images. Not concepts.
Fully editable CAD models.
Built using Codex @OpenAI and @opengeometry
Rendering using @threejs
Text → CAD for Architecture is here.

No third-party tool, no Revit, no AutoCAD!

From rockets to architecture, if it needs geometry, we support it.
Someone recently asked whether our Geometry Kernel is only for Architecture use cases.
The answer is simple, absolutely not.
You can design rockets with it, too.

Geometry changes everything.
Geometry was the missing layer in AI.
We believe if you don’t own the geometry, you don’t own the outcome.
Now it’s obvious.
