RIBA — one of the gravest sins in Islam — isn't just in loans. It's in the MONEY itself. Simon Dixon: what's worse is the interest owed on every dollar doesn't even exist. He calls it a debt-based Ponzi scheme. Did you know money in your bank account originated as debt?

A Bible reader sat down to study the Quran's verses on interest. She expected banking to bore her. Then she found a warning of war from Allah and His Messenger over it. Many of us carry credit-card debt without a second thought. When did we stop hearing this warning?

Sell 900 grams as a kilo and everyone calls it THEFT. Bashar Humeid at the Muslim Bitcoin Summit London: fiat does the same to money, the scale everything else is weighed on. If money is the scale, should anyone be allowed to change it? @muslimbtcsummit

“But stablecoins are nothing to do with Riba! “ There’s a difference between Muslims being on the back foot and operating as best we can - with considerable constraint - within a financial system not made for us. The point being we can try to build a base that may survive if and when we can operate without Riba And Leaving the fiat space (or claiming to do so) to ACTIVELY seek yield Utilising specific aspects that ENTIRELY depend on Riba to exist and survive and could not exist without Riba, and then using a direct consequence of that to profit from and extract yield from. ( specific reference here to USDC and USDT but the wider claim applies) If riba is eliminated - these spaces would directly fail and not exist. And any business built on them would also not exist. When we make excuses to rebuild and rely on the explicit aspects of Riba we are ordered to avoid - this is not escape. This is not innovation. This is not saving Muslims This is not replicating the glory of our noble predecessors This is not preparing our Ummah for elevation This is not serving our Ummah This is extraction from Muslims. Pure and simple. We treat Muslims like Riba treats us. As items to monetise We treat our Deen as a tool for yield. A tool for emotional manipulation. A tool to uplift ourselves - and make us sound like saviours. Our Deen presses upon us a coherent philosophy of capital and constraint. We choose to ignore it. There can be no benefit for us here.

Fiat is highly unstable, it has lost 99% of its purchasing power. We cannot expect some nice and cosy alternative to be ready waiting, we have to use the tools we have to build an alternative and forge that path. Bitcoins volatility dampens with increasing liquidity, like all monetary systems. Bitcoin has also never been hacked and quantum computers are still literally just theory. Even with that in mind, the best developers in the world are working on bitcoin, and quantum resistant solutions are already in motion. This is also not an issue unique to bitcoin, the entire banking system is the same. Bitcoin can be trusted by everyone because it’s literally trustless. Anyone can use it, anyone can run a node, nobody can prevent you from using it, or manipulate how you are able to use it. You don’t have to worry about who else is doing it because it’s completely neutral, like gold. If people don’t get it, that’s not an excuse. It’s then our job to help people get it, which is exactly what the Bitcoin Majlis aims to do. Bitcoin is simply an open, neutral monetary network and payment system. We need to harness the tool we have and start moving our economic energy into that system. If we, as an ummah, decided we were going to trade and transact with each other on that monetary network, peer to peer, nobody could stop us, and volatility would be as unimportant as it’s always been for gold. It’s also important to note that volatility is natural. Only a manipulated fiat system has made people think it’s not. Volatility is a reflection of the decisions being made by market participants. Without volatility, you actually have no idea what the demand is for certain goods and services, and even money itself. The question you need to ask though is… volatile measured in what? The dollar? The pound? If you look at the price of gold measured in failing currencies, like the German Mark during the Weimar Republic, you will see that gold looked highly volatile… but in fact, it was highlighting the problems of the currency it was being measured in. If you look at a similar chart, of gold priced in dollars over the last century, you will basically see the same chart, just over a longer time frame.

$6.3B stolen from Binance yesterday. Withdrawals suspended. Even if every loss is covered, customers need permission to touch their own savings. Tee Politics friend, in Bitcoin since 2013, is still on Robinhood. Do you NOW trust yourself or an exchange more? @muslimbtcsummit
JUST IN: Binance founder CZ says $6.3 billion crypto hack is a "major disaster for the industry." "It hurts, but we survive."

If RIBA is built into fiat, is Bitcoin any better? Critics say it's haram because criminals use it. @SimonDixonTwitt answer, part 2: xitter.gq/orangeummah/status/211…
#JummahMubarak Hackers just stole $6.3B from Binance You'll hear it again: Bitcoin is HARAM because criminals use it Simon: shoes worn in a crime aren't haram either. Fiat is different: RIBA is built into how it's made Should we judge money by who uses it or by how it's made?

Just a reminder that this platform pays you yield derived from treasury backed stablecoins. So we’re returning to the golden age of Muslims financing the world’s trade without interest… by getting them to finance the world’s trade using interest… Innovative
Muslims once financed the world’s trade without interest. For the first time in centuries, we can return to that. $2M+ deposited during our invite-only beta. Today, Goldsand is live on iOS and Android. Halal savings built a new way: to beat interest, not settle. Here’s how ↓

Muslims just love being grifted man, the purefi-fasset-ummah-launchgood alliance is going to blow up in their faces… it’s all dollar denominated and treasury-backed, plugged in to the old system

Said it better than I did. Become a #lunarpunk Anon. Run a AI ready Bitcoin node. Use your ram to secure your digital sovereignty. Maintain your digital hygiene by running a nextcloud on your node. Running a web5 node is one of the most moral things you can do today.
Sam Altman just told you local inference is terrible. Of course he fucking did. He sells the cloud. He wants every prompt you write to go through his servers. His prices. His rules. His logs. He decides which model you get today and what it refuses to do. You do not control any of it. That is exactly why local inference has to win. Every model running on your own computer is one less user he controls. Every open weights release makes his pitch weaker. So now the pitch is that RAM in your own computer is a waste of the world's supply. I run DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM on my 4x 3090 every day. Nobody reads my chats. Nobody changes my model overnight. Nobody can switch it off. Honestly, this quote is the best ad for local AI I have seen all year. Fuck your cloud, Sam. Run it at home. xitter.gq/morqon/status/21158388…

An ex-Meta engineering manager on what the system watching you really sells: not just products, but the power to influence you. Narratives, fear, silence. Most of us already self-censor. If the system controls us, are we truly free? @thinking_muslim @jalalayn
