it's called Link's Awakening
Are there any ‘it was all a dream’ endings that are genuinely well-written and that people actually enjoy?

If they add deviljho, then yes, it would fix base wilds 🤷‍♂️
i cant wait for MHWsA to come out and people are going to act like it “fixed” the game like monster hunter players do for most other MH games for some reason

The church that turns you into a furry. Is it really so bad?
“Clerics transformed into the most hideous beasts.” First a priest, now a vicar. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS CHURCH!?

Whenever ATB was perfected. I think FF6/7. Chrono Trigger was sick with the positioning aspect and party combo attacks. Earthbound has the rolling hp system. Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario with timed attacks and blocks. Xenoblade honestly has a really cool battle system as well.
What's the most innovative turn based video game you've ever played?

If we get Elden Ring 2, let it be polarizing and completely different from its predecessor. Fuck positive critical response lol
Would I want a sequel to the sistine chapel? I do want more art from Miyazaki because I love his imagination. Artistic ideas can branch out and grow. So is it milking a franchise or revisiting your ideas, reiterating on their philosophy?

I just want to challenge myself, to look at games truly as art versus viewing them as a product. I think it would help me appreciate them even more. Having expectations for art sounds silly when i say that out loud.

I honestly have never encountered a decent game critique, it’s usually hyper focused through the lens of a consumer. Focusing on functionality. There’s no “why” or discussion on history and context. It’s a shallow but wordy product review.

But then again, the vision of a game is always skewed because there are so many moving parts, multiple people working on one thing… But the same can be said about film or even a mural. I guess that’s why the credit or even blame is placed on the director…

I did it recently with DK64. I was comparing the function of its contemporaries. But I suppose it’s okay to look at it as both because of the nature of the industry.

Games have content. The product has a value. It is meant to be consumed. But if it’s art, then its flaws are part of it.
