Beacons in the miasma that is #academia. Wish me luck as I make sense of these hinterlands while continuing to find the becoming-questions that make new meaning. @ecobruja @TWTMazzei @Ethicsofcare @routledgebooks @UMinnPress #mattersofcare #thinkingwiththeory #AcademicChatter

A beautifully-done issue on #education from @laphamsquart. The preamble by @paultough is a galvanizing and gorgeous 9-page inquiry into the what, how, and whom — generative living questions that elucidate how education is an innately political act.

A wonderful reminder that linguistic intelligibility is achieved relationally! Experiences of “language barriers” are often rooted in a lack of meaningful relation rather than linguistic discontinuity.

American equals white? American history equals white history? A Black woman playing an enslaver's flute is proof that the people who collectively hold every advantage over Black people have been conquered? They always reveal more than they think.
The thing that is obvious but people don’t want to say is that this is about humiliating white people, about desecrating American history and heritage. That’s what you do when you’re a conqueror. Humiliate the conquered.

We got hands-on with the #repairmindset resource from @MakerEdOrg, @AbdOakland, and @CultureOfRepair, working with a selection of broken objects. Through repair, we remember that "we always have the power to leave people, places, and things better than we found them." 🛠️❤️‍🩹🥰 2/3

We re-envisioned our communities through collaborative zine-making. Cutting, collaging, and conversing, educators configured cultures of care for the upcoming academic year -- finding the poetry that sustains their work as they look towards the future. @doramedrano777 ✂️🤲🫶 3/3
