It's been a while since I showed any Jev stuff but I've been cooking on a way to use @GoogleDeepMind's EmbeddingGemma2 as an insanely fast real-time /v1/systemone endpoint (20ms on text, 100ms on images). It's trainable in real-time, can distill an upstream teacher model, and is multi-modal by default. Hard to believe a @googlegemma model of this size can do so well with the right harness!

12,000 tok / sec on a $250 board is nuts Waiting for LLMs to stream text is going to seem so quaint in a few years...
12,000 tok/s on a 250$ FPGA board. It's a small model, and doesn't answer coherently to any question or prompt really. try it out on trylittlelamb.com/ but don't expect a good chat. at least its VERY fast

I can't believe I used to type this out every time: "git commit -am wip && git push" Now all I have to do is type this: "please commit and push my changes"

The best recruiting signal is often sitting in public GitHub data. Today, we’re open sourcing the data layer we use to help founders recruit exceptional engineers. research.powerset.co/posts/r…

1/ Applications are now open for Powerset Cohort 4, where top founders get their own $ 1M+ fund for angel investing. Last year, Anton Osika (Lovable) and other elite founders joined Cohort 3. Our founders have deployed $ 20M+ so far and are outperforming top VCs.

supabase open source metrics:
We dumped GitHub into DuckLake. Here’s what we found: • Growth rate of new repos doubled in 2025 • Microsoft leads Big Tech in repo creation, contrary to narrative the company is closed • a16z captured nearly as much OSS value as all other early-stage VCs combined More below

Just released my next-generation agent session viewer with analytics dashboard (Go + Svelte). A much evolved version of wesm/agent-session-viewer which is now deprecated: agentsview.io

We replicated the @SemiAnalysis_ estimate that ~4% of public GitHub commits are being authored by Claude Code. Moreover, this figure is growing exponentially.

Teams with amazing engineering talent sometimes get “stuck” because the frontend never reflects the quality of the backend. Usually it just needs a proper design system and some polish. Dev teams move way faster when they have a foundation of tokens, styles and improved layouts to work from.

the hardest lesson i learned in my career was that code quality doesn't matter. i realized this while being nosy and checking out dynamodb's source code. simultaneously one of the most reliable, rock-solid AWS services and the worst codebase i have ever seen

PSA if you haven't used python in the past 5 years it's a completely new language now - uv solved the package management problems entirely - mypy type checks have become actually useful - cpython is now much faster - polars + fastapi + ruff replaced pandas + flask + black

Queues. The most requested feature since I started Vercel 🥹 1️⃣ Send 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚒𝚝 𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚍("𝚝𝚘𝚙𝚒𝚌", { 𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚐𝚎: "🔥" }); 2️⃣ Receive 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚒𝚝 𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚒𝚟𝚎("𝚝𝚘𝚙𝚒𝚌", "𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚎𝚛", 𝚖 => { 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚘𝚕𝚎.𝚕𝚘𝚐(𝚖.𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚐𝚎); // 𝙻𝚘𝚐𝚜 "🔥" }); Combine it with Active CPU pricing on Fluid, and you have a cost-efficient, performant, and now reliable backend system on Vercel.
