This is really smart on boarding
Every new hire at our company gets walked through one deck: "How our company works." Everyone should have one. It covers: - who we sell to - how we get business - our sales process - how we actually make money (payment terms) - how our sales team is incentivized - the org chart - what each team owns - our marketing channels - how we measure our tech partnerships

They’re tracking about 5 million servers with open ports and about 38 million servers running websites. What a crazy day to be in cybersecurity. And expectations are that this is probably gonna be the new normal for the next few months…
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Real people. Real relationships. Real connections. That’s what matters.
Americans have a "revealed preference" for doing less of basically everything except going online and I have serious doubts that this is making us happier. slowboring.com/p/americans-n…

Your mindset is one of the most powerful tools you possess. When you know your worth, have clarity about your goals, and believe in what's possible, you begin to see opportunities where others are very likely to see obstacles.

Jamie Dimon calls AI an unstoppable industrial revolution moving like a "tsunami," and says it can now do things that were unimaginable five weeks ago “Oh, definitely the equivalent of the Industrial Revolution. It’s not even close. It’s very fast. “You had the Industrial Revolution, electricity, steam engines and cars. Those took years. You had the internet. It took years to come in, to actually have the capital, the fiber and the computers. It took years to invent the iPhone. “This is really fast. This is doing stuff today that no one would have imagined was possible literally five weeks ago. It’s going at that pace, so it’s more like a tsunami. It’s rolling through the system, and you can’t stop some of it. “So it isn’t like even the regulators said, or the government said, ‘No more.’ I hate to tell you, there are hundreds of these things out there. They’re on your computer tops. There’s open source, there’s closed source, there’s open-source models. China’s doing it. A bunch of other countries are doing it. “You can’t stop it. You just have to manage the hell out of it.”
Jamie Dimon reveals Anthropic’s Mythos increased JPMorgan’s biggest risk tenfold “Oh, yeah. That’s what I’m saying. Mythos—whatever you thought it was before—when I published my chairman’s letter, I said cyber was our biggest risk, and they hadn’t published Mythos yet. I would say that went up tenfold after Mythos.”

A very positive thing I hope
I think AI is going to destroy all forms of fraud. Not reduce it. Destroy it. Today, fraud survives thanks to one thing: opacity. Thousands of spending lines nobody reads. Public contracts nobody cross-checks. Conflicts of interest buried in 400-page reports nobody opens. Fraudsters don't win because they're smart. They win because the system is too complex for humans to monitor. AI changes that equation forever. Tools like Palantir will make political fraud simply impossible. Every euro of public money traced. Every contract analyzed. Every inconsistency flagged in real time. What took a parliamentary inquiry ten years will take a model ten seconds. And here's what happens next: the people themselves will demand it. Once citizens understand it's technically possible to follow every cent of their taxes, they won't accept being told no. Total transparency of public life will become a popular demand. That's why I'm so hopeful. Look at the chaos of the world right now. The mess, the distrust, the anger, the feeling that nothing works. So much of it is tied to fraud and the inefficiency of public policy. We pay more and more, we get less and less, and no one is ever accountable. Now imagine three forces combined: the fight against fraud, the power of AI, and the end of mental communism, the idea that the state knows better than you what's good for you and answers to no one. The result is a world that's far more just. Far more efficient. A world where power finally answers to the people. We're at the dawn of it. The coming years won't be the years of fearing AI. They'll be the years AI gives power back to the people. I've never been more optimistic.

Yep. Energy is key.
Electricity production is the best metric for the true strength of any large-scale economy imo

It's incredible to have a discussion where you challenge yourself and discuss and debate things.
I'm seeing two kinds of AI users. The first asks AI to think for them. Their thinking gets weaker. The second asks AI to argue with them. Their thinking gets stronger. One retired reader told me he's used more maths in the last 12 months than in the previous 30 years of his career. Same tool. Opposite result.

This is so well said - the use cases are much more relatable than booking a trip to the spa or planning a train trip in Europe
If AI labs want personal assistants to take off at scale, they need to stop marketing vacations, reservations, party planning, etc. These are not problems. Focus on *the* problem facing Americans: the cost of living. Agents can offer a ton of help. Some ideas: (🧵)

Well, said it’s interesting to see how these roles shift and adapt to the new tools…
The CFO job has gone from accountant to banker to builder, and the whole finance function is being rebuilt around it: 1. Data stopped being the bottleneck. AI pulls and reconciles data across systems, so teams spend more time acting on numbers instead of chasing them. 2. The finance stack is becoming part of the finance team. AI-native tools stand up in days, pull their own data, and turn a monthly close into a daily one. 3. The rise of the finance engineer. Finance people proficient in Claude Code or Codex are building their own tools. 4. The finance team gets smaller and higher leverage. The old heuristic of finance at 5% of headcount is heading to 2% for the leanest teams. 5. Planning becomes continuous. Usage-based revenue (tokens, API calls) moves too fast for a monthly forecast, so planning shifts from annual budgets to a live view. 6. Controls become a critical feature of the product. Every number an agent touches keeps an audit trail back to its source, and finance still owns sign-off. 7. Finance gets a bigger mandate. Compute spend, people versus software, and build versus buy are now finance decisions. "The CFO is becoming a builder and architect of the company's operating system... The job is still finance, but more of the job now is designing how finance gets done." a16z's @seemaamble, @IvanoMakSF, and David Borecky on why you need a new CFO: a16z.news/p/you-need-a-new-c…

Very well said. A credential doesn't cut it anymore. There has to be a compelling reason.
The most important message I can give to young folks just entering the workforce: NOBODY WANTS TO HIRE YOU. You don't have any or many real skills yet. You will require significant investment (both time and money) before you can add serious value to a company. You can't lead other people and you are a poor delegator. College has done virtually nothing to turn you into an asset to a company. So what now? Realize one thing: Your job is to make a company more profit than they pay you. It is up to you to build skills that can create profit for a company. Easy ones: - Learn how to write/speak and be a short and succinct communicator. - Learn to respond quickly and develop a positive, high energy attitude. - Learn how to prioritize tasks and only work on the most valuable initiatives first - Learn how to be organized and keep projects moving in a timely manner - Be eager to learn and demand more work when you're finished with what you're working on. Harder ones: - Learn a higher level skill (marketing, sales, engineering, finance, accounting, web design, etc) - Learn how to manage / lead other people. -Practice making decisions where the outcome is unknown and getting better at it. - Learn how to explain WHY what you are doing is adding value. Take it upon yourself to learn these things or just get in line for mediocrity.

Humans lead in defining intent and strategy.
What tasks should AI be trusted with, and when should humans remain involved? Designing those decision rights is one of the defining challenges of the AI era. Researchers at @MIT_CISR have developed a framework to help. Learn more: bit.ly/4zed20M
