The leader of the Liberal Democrats has visited a charity in Fleet today, and told us there’s a “real crisis” in support for SEND children and their families. Sir Ed Davey told ⁦@AlexDuke2000⁩ that he’s concerned about SEND Provision.

Today, I was delighted to welcome Lib Dem leader @edwardjdavey to North East Hampshire and introduce him to @SteppingStoneDS where I have worked for the past 5 years. Supporting family carers is a key priority for me and for the @libdems - we need better conditions for carers.

@EdwardJDavey is visiting a charity in Fleet today along with local MP Alex Brewer. The Liberal Democrat leader is speaking to families and staff at Stepping Stones DS, who support children and young people with Down Syndrome.

We won’t be playing party political games. It is time for proper, cross-party talks on social care funding, where tough but essential decisions are needed.

 We will also make sure that carers cannot be forgotten again by people in power.
