AOC: I think people deserve clarity. Do Republicans believe this office is wasteful or not? Because after telling Elon Musk that they are going to go along with DOGE, now they are turning around and trying to reverse all of these efforts…

AOC: The underlying bill reads as a commonsense proposal… that doesn’t seem so bad except the office that would be responsible for doing this has been DOGE’d. What we’re seeing is some confusion from the Republican majority.. All of these offices have been cut, personnel eliminated because the Republican Party is saying this is wasteful, fraudulent.. yet the Republican majority continues to introduce bills to do things that they have deemed as wasteful I just want to know: is this wasteful or is this not?

Phang: There’s a fantastic Texas Tribune article that reveals that the Trump administration knew the vast majority of the 238 Venezuelan immigrants sent to CECOT in mid-March had not been convicted of crimes in the U.S.—even though the administration wanted to label them as terrorists before deporting them. The government’s own data showed that U.S. officials knew only 32 of the 238 deportees had ever been convicted of a crime in the U.S.—and most of those were for non-violent offenses like retail theft or traffic violations. In addition, ProPublica and the Texas Tribune, working with Venezuelan media outlets, obtained lists of alleged gang members maintained by Venezuelan law enforcement and Interpol. Those lists included around 1,400 names—and none of the 238 Venezuelan deportees were on them.

The Republican tax bill includes a $164 BILLION tax break for corporations who invest offshore. I'm sure that's not related.

Fun fact: 48 percent of private businesses don’t provide healthcare. 44 percent of small businesses don’t offer it, either.
Lankford: "People are screaming and saying, 'It's kicking people off Medicaid.' It's not kicking people off Medicaid. It's transitioning from Medicaid to employer-provided healthcare. So yes, we've got 10 million people that are not gonna be on Medicaid, but they then are gonna be on employer-provided healthcare."

For years we've heard from the right about "welfare queens" and other so-called "freeloaders" pulling one over on the government. But actually, it's the wealthy who are the real freeloaders — pulling one over on us all by skirting their taxes. Where is the outrage over that?

I don't care if the tech bros think it makes their service better, I want to be able to opt out. I want to be able to use Google search without consuming extra water for an AI summary I didn't ask for.
I wish people were as mad about AI being added without our consent to email, Word, etc. as they were that time Apple dropped a free U2 album on us.

it’s the same playbook every time. and it’s odd than concerning that people still don’t (or won’t) recognize the pattern.

Love this for you @StephenM.
One point that doesn’t get made enough about Hillary’s unsecured server illegally used to conduct state business (obviously created to hide the Clintons’ corrupt pay-for-play): foreign adversaries could easily hack classified ops & intel in real time from other side of the globe.
