After > 20 yrs working with @bpacnz the New Zealand Formulary (NZF) and Southlink Health my association with this group has come to an end. A privilege to be with BPAC journal at the very start and manage a great team to get the NZF off the ground! Thanks and best wishes to all.

Cardiology calls statins miracle drugs. Social media calls them poison. Both sides cite published scientific papers. How can they be looking at the same evidence and reaching opposite conclusions? As a cardiologist, I think both sides are are on to something. Let me explain. 🧵

How can we still live in a world where Israel is allowed to murder hundreds of people, at least 250, — with 100 bombs dropped in 10 minutes across Lebanon — and there is not a single word of condemnation from Western government? How can we live with such abomination?

You would think we would be putting every ounce of our national diplomatic effort into working urgently with others to convince the US and Israel to halt hostilities against Iran and get into serious peace negotiations, without preconditions. Or do we have to go through an economic disaster first?

Excuse me, but any amount of alcohol in a driver's system can potentially impair judgment and cause harm to them, their passengers and other road users. There's such a thing as hospitality without alcohol, or are profits more important than lives? @Telegraph @AlcoholChangeUK

A third of preventable premature death and illness is caused by unhealthy food, alcohol and tobacco. A fundamental role of doctors is to respond to these issues. This government’s approach to prevention has been retrograde (tobacco, school lunches) or zero (alcohol, junk food)
Yeah we don’t need neopuritan wowsers from Public Health sending in 8 pages of nonsense about ‘equitable economies’, The Treaty, trade competition, visual amenity and cultural impacts. Thanks but no thanks

In the interests of scientific discourse, it would be good to get a response to this article from @gbdeclaration @DrJBhattacharya @MartinKulldorff @hartgroup_org How does this fit with focused protection and "herd immunity"?

Well known as a risk factor for a while. As GPs we should actively deprescribe anticholinergics in older people: safer alternatives are out there #dementia
