"I don't understand why they're pushing AI so hard when we can all see it's making everything worse."
That's because it's not being marketed to you; it's being marketed to governments and plutocrats. They're the real target audience for these products, not you.
You are not receiving the real sales pitch for AI, because the real sales pitch would not appeal to your sensibilities. The real sales pitch for AI isn't "Hey check out this product, it makes some web searches slightly easier and it can maybe write your emails for you." The real sales pitch for AI is "This product allows you to surveil the entire population of your country. It can be built into autonomous surveillance drones and killing machines. It can allow you to monitor and control every aspect of your society. It can reverse the decentralization of information brought on by the internet age. It can take away the collective bargaining power of workers and give you the skilled services your company requires. It can nullify strikes, civil disobedience, and even full-scale revolutions, and lock humanity into your capitalist dystopia forever."
That's the real sales pitch. It doesn't sound appealing to any normal person, but it makes sense when you remember who these technologies are really being sold to, and why.

This is an absurd and outrageous decision.
What kind of society are we living in where world-renowned authors and campaigners are treated as enemies and threats? The real threat is this government’s assault on freedom of expression.
This is not an isolated incident — and the government should know that it is gaining a bad reputation for censorship and repression.
We know why the government has taken this decision: because it wants to silence criticism of Israel, as well as its own complicity in genocide. It will not succeed.
The leading advocate for climate justice and Palestinian rights has been blocked from coming to the UK by the Home Office. Politicians, academics and writers have condemned this outrageous act of censorship.

Sanders is asking two questions:
Who funds American politics?
And whose interests shape U.S. foreign policy?
If billionaires and powerful pro-Israel networks influence both, “America First” leaves one question:
America first for whom?

Nine clinical directors at Cork University Hospital have taken the extraordinary step of writing directly to Taoiseach Micheál Martin, warning that Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill’s persistent public criticism is severely damaging morale and threatening critical staff retention.
Consultants accuse the Minister of using inaccurate staffing figures that ignore nearly 650 approved posts and misrepresent CUH's true employment picture.
Unresolved workforce shortages have reduced CT scan capacity by half, delayed procedures, and forced the closure of key facilities like the pulmonary function lab.
The senior clinicians are requesting an urgent meeting with the Taoiseach and calling for an independent assessment of the hospital's staffing restrictions.

This is historic!
Dockworkers across 5 continents and 113 ports are striking today to demand an end to their workplaces being used to transport bombs.
This is what our rulers fear most: workers coming together to liberate humanity from capitalism and imperialism.

We were nearly killed two days ago.
Settler-terrorist Tomer Liani bashed my head against the ground repeatedly, then the IDF and police blocked the ambulances and prevented hospitalisation.
All because we caught the settlers locking locking a gate to more than 20 Palestinian communities, trapping entire families.
We exposed Tomer Liani, Shimon Atia and Nevo Nadalski directly committing crimes against humanity in Masafer Yatta, and we were punished by the Israeli police and court for this.
Israeli state terrorism in the West Bank is at its peak, and the authorities are doing everything to keep Palestinian voices silent.

I fucking, fucking, FUCKING HATE writing about "antisemitism". I am so motherfucking SICK of it. I hate the word. I hate the rapey, gaslighting way all western institutions are constantly forcing this fake narrative down our throats that opposing genocide and apartheid and crazy wars means you secretly hate some random tiny religious group. Hate it, hate it, HATE it.
But I have to keep writing about it, because if you let them control the narrative it just takes over and becomes the consensus reality. So essay after essay after motherfucking essay I find myself writing "Uh no actually it's not a hate crime to say you shouldn't drop military explosives on buildings full of children" like a fucking moron, over and over and over again.
These freaks make me fucking sick. I hate the way they're constantly trying to stick their gross, rapey fingers into our minds and convince us we think things we don't think and feel things we don't feel. They never stop. They're like a cloud of gnats on a humid summer day constantly trying to fly into your nose, mouth and eyes. You swat them away and they're back an instant later, swarming, suffocating.
Pieces of shit. Fucking disgusting, evil scumbags.

Behind Every Queue, There Is a Story. 💔
Tonight at the GPO, the weather was unusually warm for this time of year, but what really stood out was the enormous number of people waiting for our support.
The crowds this week were overwhelming, and although we were a little short of male volunteers, our incredible team pulled together, worked tirelessly and did everything possible to ensure people were looked after.
But tonight, I want to share something that people don't always see.
Everybody standing in that queue has a story.
"I'm taking convulsions. I can't stand in the queue."
"I have children at home. I can't wait that long."
"I'm not feeling well. Please help me."
"My girlfriend has just had a baby. I need to get back to her."
"I'm homeless. I'm freezing. I can't stand here any longer."
"I'm hungry. Please don't make me wait two hours."
And the stories go on and on and on. 💔
Imagine being the person who has to decide who gets to go ahead and who must continue waiting.
How do you choose?
Do you let the mother with young children through first? The elderly person struggling to stand? The person visibly exhausted, worn down by life on the streets? Or the person quietly telling you they are unwell and cannot wait another minute?
Every single person has a reason why they need to be seen first. And every single story matters.
Understandably, people can become frustrated and agitated. And we understand that frustration.
Many begin queuing at 4.30pm, knowing we don't begin distributing until 6.30pm.
Two hours. Standing on a street in Dublin. Waiting for two bags of shopping.
Just think about that for a moment.
Two hours of your life, standing in a queue because you need food.
It is absolutely heartbreaking.
And while it can be difficult when frustrations are directed towards our volunteers, we must never lose sight of the circumstances that bring people to our doors in the first place.
Despite the challenges, we will continue to show up. We will continue to serve. And we will continue to do what needs to be done.
Behind the scenes, we are constantly welcoming and training new volunteers, ensuring everyone understands the responsibilities and standards required of our HSE-registered soup run.
And speaking of volunteers, we are truly blessed.
Tonight, while chatting to one of our newer volunteers, we discovered that he is studying law and, please God, will qualify as a barrister next year.
It was such a lovely moment.
Here is someone working towards a demanding professional career, yet still finding time to stand on the streets of Dublin and serve people less fortunate than himself.
And he is just one of so many.
Among our volunteers are doctors, nurses, students, mothers, professionals, and people from every walk of life.
Different backgrounds. Different journeys. Different stories.
But all united by one thing: compassion. ❤️
There is something incredibly humbling about standing alongside people who give so freely of their time, who ask for nothing in return, and who understand that kindness and dignity should never depend on someone's circumstances.
We are so fortunate to have them.
And to every person who continues to support Muslim Sisters of Éire, please know that we could not do this without you.
Your donations, your generosity and your belief in what we do allow us to keep showing up, week after week, for people who have so little.
The queues are getting longer. The stories are getting harder. And the need is not going away.
But neither are we.
Because nobody should have to stand in a queue for two hours wondering whether they will have enough food to get through another day.
If you would like to support our soup run and help us continue this vital work, please consider donating below - msoe.ie/donate/
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.

In a shocking attack on free speech, a man walked out of a London cinema, calling the latest Ali G movie “a load of rubbish”. A woman who was wearing an IDF t-shirt nearby burst into tears and no one rushed to console her. This meant she had to call the police herself.
The suspect escaped the cinema in a getaway vehicle, but counter-terrorism police arrested him at his home. The prime minister says it was part of an Iran-linked terror plot, but bizarrely the man has been released on bail.
When confronted by reporters in his street, he looked confused. He explained: “I used to think Ali G was funny when I was 18 and stupid, but I hadn’t paid attention to him for 20 years. I decided to give the movie a go because I liked the idea of going into an empty cinema, but it wasn’t worth it. It was just a sad old man wearing blackface and perving over women young enough to be his granddaughter. It was embarrassing.”
I apologise for quoting his hate speech word for word, but it’s important the public understands how bad the problem has got. What is the world coming to when a Zionist can’t wear blackface or fantasise about Sydney Sweeney?
I tried to find fans of the movie for comment, but unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be any. Despite a massive PR push, only 14 people went to see Ali G worldwide, so it was moved to streaming services where no one bothered to stream it.
What makes this particularly upsetting is that Cohen has worked his whole life for this. He was heavily involved in the Labour Zionist youth movement and spent time living on kibbutzes, which he credits with honing his comedy skills. This explains why he is to comedy what Gal Gadot is to acting.
Cohen’s movie Borat was a massive hit in Israel, partly because the language the character speaks is actually Hebrew and it’s filled with inside jokes that only Zionists understand. Those jokes are hilarious, but they aren’t meant for the goyim. Think about about the last time you hit translate on Hebrew Twitter post before they removed the translate button. It’s that level of comedy.
People accuse Cohen of being Mossad just because he played a legendary Mossad agent in The Spy and an Israeli security expert in Who Is America? Obviously, this accusation is ridiculous and can only be driven by antisemitism.
To prove the point, Cohen joined forces with the Anti-Defamation League—the organisation whose leader brags about cyberstalking critics of Israel. Cohen has called social media platforms “the greatest propaganda machines in history”. He blames an online boycott for Ali G bombing harder than the IDF in Gaza.
Cohen explained that “pro-Palestine activists” and "Hamas-affiliated operatives” are the reason no one went to see his movie. Just know that if you’re one of those people, you face up to 14 years in prison under the Terrorism Act.
Andy Burnham is so concerned about the boycott that he’s just held an emergency COBRA meeting. Everyone who attended the meeting wore blackface in solidarity with Israel, apart from Shabana Mahmoud who wore a Borat moustache instead.
You will be pleased to know the Ali G movie will now be shown in all schools as part of a deradicalisation program. If the little shits don’t improve their behaviour fast, we might even make them watch Borat.
