Canadian New Democrat Parliamentary leader @DonDavies made a statement in support of BioWare and Mass Effect and called to save the studio for its cultural heritage and export from Canadaπ
He condemned EA for the way it preys upon the creativity of studios like BioWare before running them to the ground for profit:
βBioWareβs US parent company, EA, has decided to close the studio. These publishers buy developers, run them into the ground, and rip them apart for profit. There's a pattern of US companies buying Canadian businesses and shutting them down, costing Canadians their jobs.β
He added that the devs at BioWare know how to run the studio and make games fan love and called for them to be given federal support to buy themselves out of EA and run the studio themselves.
