“Cheap and crappy.” Apple’s CEO has some strong words for early foldable phones. In a TIME interview, John Ternus explained why Apple waited years to enter the foldable market, focusing on display quality, durability and design. Now, with the iPhone Duo, Apple is taking on Samsung after years of Galaxy Z Fold innovation. Can Apple challenge Samsung’s foldable dominance?

The iPhone 18 Pro is seeing a wave of unexpected early reports. Users are reporting color/brightness differences, green or pink lines, and inconsistent Face ID scanning. Apple has confirmed a fix for the Face ID freeze-and-reboot bug. Real issues, unverified reports—or a mix of both? (Sources: Weibo, Reddit & RaihanHan)

The biggest Apple Watch upgrade might be the one you can’t see. Series 12 and Ultra 4 don’t bring a dramatic redesign. Instead, Apple upgraded the sensing system, increased the frequency of health measurements, and added more processing power. But collecting more data is only half the story. Apple is using that richer data to provide more context around readiness, recovery and daily health trends, while bringing AI features deeper into the Watch experience. The shift is subtle, but important. Apple Watch is moving beyond tracking individual metrics toward giving you more context about what those metrics mean. Is this where the Apple Watch becomes more than a health tracker?

iPhone 18 Pro reviews are landing — and the verdict is more interesting than expected. The design may feel familiar, but reviewers are praising what’s happening underneath: • A20 Pro delivers a major performance jump • Variable aperture boosts camera versatility • Pro controls bring deeper camera control • Battery life gets a meaningful boost • Improved thermals sustain performance Not revolutionary — just a solid upgrade. And with the iPhone Duo stealing much of the spotlight, the iPhone 18 Pro is proving that Apple’s biggest upgrades don’t always need to be visible. The question is: Is refinement enough in 2026?

Did Apple forget about left-handed users on the iPhone Duo? Some left-handed users are already questioning Apple’s design choices. • Touch ID is on the right-side button • Camera Control is also on the right • The iOS 27 Dock sits along the right side The iPhone Duo isn’t unusable for lefties — but one-handed use could definitely feel less natural. But did Apple design it with both hands in mind? 🤔

iOS 27 final just confirmed it. That controversial top-bar design from the beta is still here. Apple didn’t bring back the iOS 26 look.

Apple’s iPhone Duo may have created an interesting problem for the iPad. Apple didn’t simply make a foldable iPhone with a bigger screen. The Duo opens into a 7.6-inch display, supports Apple Pencil, and brings features like Split View, two Safari windows and saved app pairs. Apple has also redesigned iOS 27 around the larger display. As Craig Federighi explained, the software had to be rethought specifically for the Duo’s new form factor. That puts the Duo in an interesting position. It brings some of the iPad’s strengths to the iPhone — while Apple still keeps iPadOS exclusive to the iPad. And that makes the Duo story more interesting than simply calling it a foldable iPhone: Apple may not be replacing the iPad — but it is bringing more and more reasons to ask whether you still need one.

Apple says its biggest iPhone Duo secret wasn’t the foldable itself — it was the display. Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak says leaks revealed that the company was working on a foldable, allowing Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi to figure out the Duo’s unusual wide aspect ratio before Apple launched it. But Apple claims competitors didn’t know about its key display technology. The iPhone Duo uses a custom nano-texture finish designed to reduce glare and make the fold crease less noticeable. Apple says it added extra security around the technology and kept it under wraps. That makes the Duo story more interesting than a simple “copycat” debate: Apple may have lost the surprise on the design — but it says the real innovation was still hidden.

The Dynamic Island is getting a little less “island.” Apple reportedly plans to reduce its width by roughly 35%, from 20.76mm to 13.49mm on the iPhone 18 Pro. It’s a subtle change, but it reflects Apple’s approach: refine the experience first, hide the hardware gradually.

The iPhone 18 Pro color lineup may have just leaked — and Apple may ditch Black. Alleged SIM trays shared by leaker Sonny Dickson reportedly show Silver, Dark Cherry and Sky Blue. This is interesting because a recent leak claimed the iPhone 18 Pro would come in Black, Dark Cherry and Sky Blue. Dickson says he has only seen these three colors in recent months. He also notes that black dummy units are produced every year and don’t necessarily represent Apple’s final color choices. If accurate, Apple may be replacing Black with Silver for the iPhone 18 Pro. The final lineup remains unconfirmed.

Google may have just proved that Android removed a feature people actually loved. After years of forcing users to rely on Always-On Display, the Pixel 11’s Pixel Glow is bringing back one of Android’s most practical ideas: notification lights. Now, with Pixel Glow, Google is bringing back the notification LED in a modern form—integrating it into the Pixel 11’s rear camera bar for visual alerts instead of the front bezel. Sometimes “innovation” isn’t creating something new—it’s bringing back what never should’ve disappeared. Now the real question is: Will Apple and Samsung ignore this too, or is the notification LED making a comeback?

WhatsApp is officially beginning the rollout of username reservations, giving users an opportunity to secure their preferred handle ahead of the wider launch later this year. Here’s how to claim your username: • Update WhatsApp to the latest version. • Android: Settings → Account → Username • iPhone: You → Profile → Create Username • Choose an available username and save it. Keep in mind: • The feature is rolling out gradually, so it may not be available for every account yet. • Usernames will let you connect with new people without sharing your phone number, offering an additional layer of privacy. If the option isn’t visible yet, you’ll need to wait until WhatsApp enables it for your account as the rollout expands.
