ProdFest is where dreams take shape, and last year we had @SantiagoDevRel from @Lisk live with us. Yes, he once drove a keke.
Today, he works with one of the biggest names in Web3.
Stories like this are why ProdFest matters.
Will you be there at ProdFest 2026?

🔰My Blockchain Dev. Journey: How Learning in Public Transformed My Growth Mindset 🔥.
When I first started sharing my Blockchain learnings online, I secretly hoped for likes, comments, and validation. But what I discovered was far more valuable ,having a great digital footprint in what I do best and the act of documenting my journey publicly became my greatest teacher.
📚 THE POWER OF SHARING KNOWLEDGE:
Every time I prepared to explain a concept publicly, I had to:
- Research deeper than I normally would
- Structure my thoughts more clearly
- Anticipate questions I hadn't considered
This process alone doubled my understanding of topics like:
🔹 How ECDSA signatures secure crypto transactions
🔹 The intricacies of gas optimization in Ethereum
🔹 The architecture of hierarchical deterministic wallets
🔹 Smart contract security best practices
🔨 WHAT PUBLIC LEARNING HELPED ME BUILD:
Through this approach, I've build:
✅Ethos on Base (@EthosOnBase ): An accountable web3 app (built along with my Teammate for the @buildonbase
Hackathon)
✅XANPAY APP: Crypto payment app for both crypto savvy and non crypto savvy (built at the @prodfest Hackathon along with my teammate) 🥇won 3rd Position on this at the Hackathon
✅ Advanced Gas Tracker - With real-time mempool analysis
✅ Ethereum Address Explorer CLI - Supporting multiple networks
✅ Test Smart contract deployment.
✅ ECDSA Public-Private Key Demo - Visualizing the math behind wallet security
and having so many more great things to build in future🔥.
💡 THE UNEXPECTED BENEFITS:
1️⃣ Broke My Procrastination Cycle
- Knowing others might see my progress created healthy pressure
- Turned "I'll study later" into "Let me document this now"
2️⃣ Developed Problem-Solving Grit
- Those 3am debugging sessions taught me persistence
- Now I see bugs as puzzles to solve, not roadblocks
3️⃣ Built Authentic Connections
- Met mentors who noticed my consistency
- Connected with collaborators through shared learning
🌱 TO THOSE JUST STARTING:
The blockchain space can feel overwhelming, but:
- Your current knowledge is valuable to someone just one step behind
- Every tutorial you create reinforces your own understanding
- The right people will find and support your journey
Special thanks to everyone who engaged with my posts, sent DMs, or quietly cheered me on. Your support meant more than you know. 🙏

The Real Alpha in Web3 is Not hype, Not trends or luck
✅ It’s skill
✅ Knowledge
✅ Action
Our Cohort III at @blockfuselabs built on Base, so we know what it takes, and what it takes is actually doing, not just watching.
If you can stay curious long enough, everything else becomes easier: the tech, the tools, the opportunities.

They said it wasn't possible.
We proved otherwise.
Few Months ago, when we started building @blockfuselabs , the dream seemed too big for many to believe.
No funding. No shortcuts. No guarantees.
Just a vision — to raise a new generation of African builders who would leave a mark on the world.
Today, this is the community we've built.
Not just students — but brothers, sisters, dreamers, creators, leaders.
⚡ From classrooms to meetups.
⚡ From football fields to hackathons.
⚡ From strangers to family.
We didn't wait for the perfect moment.
We became the moment.
Every milestone is a reminder:
If you dare to believe in your vision — and if you fight for it — nothing is impossible.
This is just the beginning.
The next chapter will be even greater.
Blockfuse Labs — built by dreamers, for dreamers.

August kicked off with a bang. Builders, creators, and founders were everywhere, connecting and creating. Energy was high, ideas were flowing, and the ecosystem felt alive.
We hosted the @ayahq_ x @LiskAfrica @LiskHQ Incubation Program Founders Summit + Demo Day, where the top founders who made it to the final stage stayed at the Builders Hub for 2 weeks.
They refined their ideas, built with focus, and pitched their projects on Demo Day.
Missed it? Don’t worry you can catch the replay👉🏽 m.youtube.com/watch?v=JrEkvp…
Then came @Eth_Enugu, Nigeria’s first PopCity event. Builders from all over Africa came to learn, network, and create together. The vibe? Electric. Documentary videos are out, you need to see this 👉🏽 xitter.gq/eth_enugu/status/19714…

@Hack4Futo brought builders into action mode. Ideas weren’t just shared, they were built, tested, and iterated in real-time.
And of course, @Web3LagosCon one of Africa’s largest conferences. Thousands of creatives, builders, and enthusiasts. Panels that sparked conversations. Connections that could last a lifetime.
We made a full documentary of the Eth Enugu ‘25 pop up city experience!!

Building in Africa isn’t easy.
Funding gaps, infrastructure challenges, limited visibility, the obstacles are real.
But so is the resilience.
At @prodfest, we saw builders who refuse to give up. Builders who find a way when there seems to be none.....
We are still building such builders @blockfuselabs
That resilience is Africa’s true competitive edge.

Off the top of my head is simple, we will hand them the keys to tax us, all our "innovative off-ramp/on-ramp/stables dApps" operating in Nigeria will be compelled to get VASPs licences and through them, they get to the mass.
The calculation didn't start today👇👇👇
xitter.gq/DMitong/status/1968968…
I see that this has raised many eyebrows, but honestly, there has been a gradual development that led to this point, which many people slept on or didn't follow.
The Money Laundering (P&P) Act of 2022 started it by defining virtual assets and VASPs, this graduated into the Finance Act of 2023 signed by PMB (this is actually the first law that introduced tax on digital/virtual assets by adding it to the then Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Act as chargable assets), then the CBN Guidelines for VASPs accounts followed in December 2023.
This final consolidation and codification that we see in the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025 (which repealed the old CGT Act) and the Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025, is more or less the final nail in the coffin.
I believe that full legalisation of crypto will follow soon if the pathways to getting revenue through VASPs are actualised.
