youtube.com/watch?v=8YIWhxq3… "Ben Moore is an Army veteran who went from a first mushroom trip with a deployment buddy to secretly growing his own, taking five gram doses in his living room while his wife held space upstairs with their kids. What followed was a full church, founded on a hike, now working with over a thousand people. He walks through the darkest season that led him there, the year ten recruiters in his Houston assignment took their own lives before he arrived, and the Johns Hopkins veteran study that pushed him to act when nobody around him could get him mushrooms. He also breaks down the legal fight he says he is currently in with a pharma research institute that published a preprint claiming his sacrament was nothing but psilocybin, and how he says he responded with independent lab testing that found the compound thirteen separate times. Plus the Ibogaine and 5-MeO pairing he calls closing the loop, the hyperdosing hikes his group does in Austin, and an invitation for a future TFG hike session." What I wrote after listening to this podcast: I hear you soft and clear brother @p5iloBenjamin Moore  your podcast is the best one I have ever heard in my entire life  God bless your Master Jedi ship Benjamin I see you and recognize you this is the best pharmaceutical explication of psychedelics I have ever heard your personal story is the most powerful healing story I have ever encountered This is the best history of our church and our whole story I have so far experienced your message is so powerful I am humbled Love, Ian

A Bastrop, TX cop pulled a woman over for a traffic stop and told her she could get out of a ticket by exchanging it for sexual favors. She declined. He wrote her a fat ticket. She reported him. Audit of his bodycams showed this was the ninth woman he did this to but none of the others had reported it. kxan.com/news/local/bastrop-…

God already built a wall through Big Bend — it's called the Chisos Mountains. We don't need to give billions of our tax dollars to out of state vendors. We don't need to desecrate this sacred land. We don't need this useless, disgraceful, corrupt Big Bend border wall.

The City of Bastrop is holding a City Council meeting hours away in Fredericksburg, making it nearly impossible for the people they represent to attend and participate. That’s especially troubling when the agenda includes major issues like the city budget, property tax rate, legislative priorities, data center policy, and Flock camera technology—topics that directly affect Bastrop residents. Public meetings should be accessible to the public. Moving them out of town undermines transparency and meaningful citizen participation. This is unacceptable. I will be filing legislation to require that city council meetings be held in the city they represent so the public has a fair opportunity to attend, speak, and hold their elected officials accountable. #txlege

.@JamesTalarico on Texas officially banning THC: “This bill is insane. Texans aren’t going to stop smoking weed and eating edibles because politicians in Austin say so. Texans will still use THC — but instead of getting it safely from a local small business, they’ll go back to getting it from the black market. From the drug cartels. This ban is a gift to the cartels. We are now telling full-grown adults how to live their lives. This is the nanny state at its worst; this is big government at its worst.  Instead of fully funding our schools, guaranteeing healthcare, or making childcare more affordable — this Legislature is focused on banning a product that gives people a little peace. We’re making people’s lives harder, not easier. I want to leave you with a quote: ‘It is time to end needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of marijuana for personal use.’ That wasn’t a Democrat. That was President Donald Trump. To my Republican colleagues, I’m asking you to oppose the cartels, stand with President Trump, and vote no on this insane bill.”

A college student just killed the biggest advantage politicians have ever had. The gap between the lie and the fact-check. He built a Chrome extension called InTruth. It listens to any live speech, debate, or interview. Transcribes every word. And checks every claim against real sources in real time. Before the speaker even finishes the sentence. It works on debates. Press conferences. Town halls. Interviews. Anything with someone talking on video. The fact-check shows up on your screen while they're still talking. Until now, fact-checking happened hours or days later. By then the clip has been shared, the headline has been written, and the damage is done. Nobody reads the correction. InTruth closes that gap to seconds. The claim and the fact-check exist in the same moment. A college student, a Chrome extension, and an AI model just did what entire newsrooms couldn't figure out for decades.

$GOOGL has an anti-aging asset nobody is pricing. Friedberg @friedberg walked through a Calico paper that should be on Alphabet holders' radar. Calico is Google's longevity lab. Working with Revel Pharma, it used AlphaFold plus directed evolution to design a novel enzyme that degrades CML, the glycation end-product that stiffens tissue and drives aging. The result is not a slide. Across five recursive design cycles the enzyme degraded **52-97%** of CML on human proteins, and on donated skin from patients over 70 it eliminated about **55%** of CML - reversing the skin's profile toward that of a 31-year-old. It is AI-designed proteins doing something genuinely new in biology, not a benchmark score. Chamath @chamath frames the first market as cosmetic: a workable anti-aging cream is a multi-trillion-dollar category. This is the AlphaFold thesis paying out in a product line, and the AlphaFold-to-drugs bridge is exactly what Demis Hassabis @demishassabis has argued is the real near-term return on Google's AI - not chatbots, but designed molecules. Same company, same stack, a second revenue engine the market files under "research." Implication: this is deep-optionality inside a name you already hold on search and cloud. It does not move the $GOOGL model this year. But it is a reminder that Alphabet's AI edge shows up in drug and materials design, an option the Street assigns roughly zero value. If a Calico or Isomorphic asset reaches a real market, that is upside no analyst is underwriting. Watch for Calico or Isomorphic Labs to move a designed molecule toward a commercial or clinical path.

"AI is like oil." Chamath's latest take on All-In is the simplest explanation of why AI pricing is about to collapse. He said think of one million AI tokens as one barrel of intelligence. Anthropic sells that barrel for $56. OpenAI sells it for $26. Elon sells it for $1. Zuck sells it for $1.50. Google sells it for $1. The Chinese sell it for 50 cents. Same barrel. Wildly different prices. His point: "If you've made a bet around one of these folks selling extremely expensive barrels of intelligence, you may run into some downstream difficulty." The capability gap between the expensive models and the cheap ones is shrinking every month. The pricing gap hasn't caught up yet. When it does, someone's margins collapse. This is the AI pricing reckoning nobody wants to talk about.

The CEO of Palantir sat across from Larry Fink - the man who runs BlackRock and its $11.5 TRILLION in assets - and told Davos the AI race is already lost by everyone pricing it wrong. - he says the firms selling AI by the token have "completely broken" how it works 32-min from the Davos main stage on how AI redefines war, power and who actually controls capital bookmark & watch - it's the most direct AI + power talk of the year
I automate things for a living. I never automated my own inbox. Six weeks ago an AI employee took it over, and last Thursday he did something I never asked for. I'm an API automation developer and an AI implementation manager. I mentor other builders. What I do not have is staff. Everything on my list that stays unshipped stays unshipped because I ran out of hours, not because I ran out of ideas. Viktor lives in my Slack. Early on he only did what I told him to do. Triage the inbound, pull the research, draft the replies I never got around to. Thursday he went further. He noticed a collab thread that had gone quiet for nine days, pulled up what had actually been agreed in it, drafted the follow-up in my voice, and posted it in Slack for me to look at. I read it, changed one line, sent it. That thread is alive again. That is the whole difference. Every AI I have ever built with waits for a prompt. This one watches the work and turns up holding it. He proposes. I approve. I am the only approver there is, and that is exactly how I want it. Most AI tells you what to do. Viktor does the work. Tell me I'm wrong.
