Approaching the “I told you so moment” - now let’s quickly have the local GBA elections to prove this! xitter.gq/raizerius/status/20856…
The claim that Bengaluru’s voting % was very poor was always debatable - the fact that almost 47% of the voter list is likely to be purged (notwithstanding the fact that many genuine voters might be booted out) proves that a milestone cleanup exercise was necessary. (1/4)

This Dussehra, celebrate the greatest victory of all — the gift of good health. As we celebrate the triumph of good over evil, may every home be filled with healthier tomorrows, brighter smiles, and the happiness of living well. Because every victory begins with good health.

It’s been a decade since last city elections - a decade in which Covid has come and gone and AI has come and grown. An initiative by @oorvani and @Janaagraha1 with a data-led approach for the next local elections (hopefully soon) with technology support by @K2_181 and volunteers
Bengaluru last elected its ward councillors in 2015. Since then the city has spent about ₹38,455 crore a year with nobody local to blame for the pothole outside your gate. The ward elections are coming soon, hopefully 🤞. A few of us are building something for them. 🧵

This might be the story of every major city-high number of migratory population (coming in from out of state and moving within the city) has created massive inefficiencies in the voter lists. The lists have just grown and grown without anyone trying to validate domicile (3/4)

Lack of incentives(or disincentives) to keep one’s voter entry latest and clean is costing a clear demand for urban political accountability. Every voter finds it easy to add entry to new constituency when moved, while the old entry lingers on dragging the percentages down. (4/4)

When people start tracking things themselves, a more accurate picture of governance emerges. And these days, with tech and groups and AI, a lot is possible. This summary of 'to-do' things in South Corporation shows that meetings with communities are happening, but subsequent action has been slow. I understand that there will be a lag between issues being reported and being fixed, but over time, the percentages need to hit 80%. @comm_blr_south @NITINKML @raizerius

BSWML has managed to complicate not just Solid Waste Management, but now even the GBA/BBMP property tax portal. #EaseOfLiving A simple property tax payment is turning into a confusing exercise due to poorly designed SWM user fee questions and unclear data requirements. There is no per-house waste weighment system, so all entries are merely estimates. And the framework imposes discriminatory charges on apartment communities that already segregate and compost their waste. Fix the SWM framework first—don’t make compliance harder for citizens. We seek urgent intervention from the Chief Commissioner, GBA. #BSWML @GBA_office @BSWML_GBA @KareeGowda_IAS @munishmody

Oh my God! This is phenomenally effective communication! Fantastic narrative device with the right amount of exaggeration that lands the message with a bang, while also sending chills down the spine of the target audience (parents of young children)! Excellent work by the Irish agency Core Creative. #advertising #creativity

Are civic activists and volunteers burnt out? Is civic activism dying in Bengaluru? Me and @srinualavilli had an opportunity to pose this question to a group of participants during the India Civic Summit hosted by @citizenmatters . Read on to find the answer. @BAFBLR
