FFVIII and FFX please
When asked if other Final Fantasy titles will be remade like the FF7 Remake series, Hamaguchi says he personally thinks that the popular FF titles that came before will be remade someday.
However, whether those titles will be split across a trilogy like FF7 is hard to say.
What FF7 did with the Remake series with its impact on entertainment is something that might be hard to replicate for other titles, which it makes it very unique and something he is proud of.

Just watched Casey's episode about performance on The Pragmatic Engineer. My favorite part is:
- Are you using AI to make your new game?
- No
- Why?
- Because I don't want to
And then Casey compares himself to an organic farmer guy vs IKEA factory manager.
I relate to this a lot, and this is why I don't use AI for my side projects. Not because of some made-up ethical or productivity reason. I just simply don't want to, and I like that I don't have to justify it.
Also, I've been sleeping on Gergely Orosz until recently, great podcast!

As a software dev, do you remember those times where you couldn't figure out something the entire day, went to sleep and handled it in 5 minutes the next day?
I think that every software engineer used to have this pride and a sense of accomplishment when they managed to solve a hard task, issue, build a complicated but beautiful website, or animation.
This is now gone, as anyone can do it by nagging the LLM long enough until they solve it...
Ok, in some cases, you still need to know how to navigate the LLM, but tackling hard challenges is a different story now.
The challenge, the dopamine is gone, so I guess we need to find it somewhere else:)
