The literacy crisis isn’t that people can’t read the words. It’s that they can’t understand the context, infer meaning, recognise nuance, identify contradictions, or draw logical conclusions from what they’ve read

Go. Go now. Don't think, just go. This film questions truth. It asks what is a lie, and what we BELIEVE is the truth, and what we justify as our version of truth. It blurs the lines of documentary and art. When the filmmaker becomes part of the story rather than the storyteller
between Digger and You Can See Everything, i can safely say that post-covid cinema has found it's voice. i've always enjoyed the floundering of voices trying to place postmodernism properly into cinema and i think that these two films are leading the way. skepticism is beautiful

Digger is a political movie that condemns the idea that watching political movies is activism. You Can See Everything is a documentary that condemns the idea that documentaries can be trusted. Incredible month for movies.

Issa Rae says her untitled HBO comedy about male friendship and professional boxing in Las Vegas is moving ahead. “We’re casting. I’m really excited,” she said. “We have a day on the books and it’s moving.”
The series still has no official title. Asked if one exists yet, Rae said no: “They’ve rejected some of my titles. So I got to come better.” She added that she isn’t upset. “I’m not mad at the rejections. It’s a challenge.”
The project, previously reported under the working title ‘Untitled Male Friendship Show’, follows a barber-turned-sports manager and his best friend, a rising boxer. Rae is writing and producing; Prentice Penny is showrunner and will direct the pilot.

Really enjoyed Shaquille and Amir’s friendship. It was refreshing to see them have open and honest conversations without judgement. #ADifferentWorld

What a ride! Playing Keyshawn has truly been one of the most transformative, creatively challenging and beautiful experiences of my life and career.
I’ve been part of this world since it was an untitled pilot presentation back in 2018, when we had put together a 13 minute sizzle reel for STARZ.
I remember a flood of emotions when I read the pilot for the first time and immediately felt this deep connection to this girl, who so badly wanted to be loved. Whose troubles, heartache & abuse were suspended for a few minutes under the purple lights.
I have a very clear memory of us on the rooftop of a hotel one night in Atlanta, dreaming about what this show would become if it got picked up, and feeling this buzzing energy of excitement that, after years of auditions and getting SO close, someone finally gave us a shot.
And now we get ready, one last time, for opening night at The Pynk.
I’m so excited you all get to finally see what we’ve been working on since we’ve been away.
2 episode premiere December 4th on STARZ #PVALLEY
