Equal justice doesn’t mean prosecuting republicans and democrats in equal numbers. It means those who have shown probably cause to have committed a crime be investigated, charged if necessary, and then prosecuted regardless of class, party, race, or other statuses

I feel its only responsible to acknowledge that Ken Paxton, Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick were actually among the most gracious in defeat last night. I will admit, I did not expect it and they proved me wrong.

We forged a new kind of politics here in the Lone Star State.
An answer to this decade of division.
Now the real work begins.
Texas had the highest leftward swing out of all states!
Not only did Democrats win every statewide election, they flipped the state house, board of education & won 4 state supreme court seats.
Texas as a symbol of the Republican Party is done for. The title is now Florida’s.

Ann Richards told it was possible. And now that we have achieved what seemed impossible...a blue Texas..let's not fuxk it up again by ceding power for parity.
The only good place for a Republican is in the minority.

And last night I must admit, I was, because I watched them get absolutely f’ed on national television

Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all.
Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong.
The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

Republicans forgot how to win elections. It took arrogance to shrink the coalition while running unlikable candidates with bad personal character, writes @JohnCornyn

My doctor sent me a note last night about my Diet Coke consumption (I didn’t know she followed me).
Thought I’d better start with orange juice this morning instead.

Congratulations to Texas Agriculture Commissioner-elect Clayton Tucker!
I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Clayton Tucker as he prepares to lead the Texas Department of Agriculture.
I look forward to working closely with him and his team to ensure a smooth, seamless, and successful transition.
Regardless of politics or party affiliation, our commitment to Texas agriculture must always come first. Our farmers, ranchers, agricultural producers, rural communities, and consumers deserve nothing less than our very best.
It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the people of Texas as Agriculture Commissioner. I remain committed to standing alongside those who feed, fuel, and clothe our state, our nation, and the world.
Texas agriculture is bigger than any one person or political party. It is our heritage, our livelihood, and our future.
Together, we must continue the fight to ensure that TEXAS AGRICULTURE MATTERS — TODAY, TOMORROW, AND FOR GENERATIONS TO COME!
God bless Clayton Tucker, God bless our Texas farmers and ranchers, and God bless the great State of Texas!

One of the more exciting parts of this election - among many - is the return of a religious left.

James Talarico, a Democrat, is quoting Scripture in his victory speech, and the crowd is cheering.
Democrats don’t hate religion. We hate watching people weaponize it.
Faith isn't the problem. Using God as a weapon against your neighbors is.
