Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026). arkolith.com/news/news-micr… therepublic.com/?p=843020 governor.ny.gov/news/safer-str…

#kingjulian running out in her defense confirms everything. Laws and constitution were complied with, what’s the issue? Did they lose an ally/eyes and ears?

If you posted the name of EVERY damn beneficiary and full audited statements they will NOT care! They will say it’s doctored! They see the development unfolding they are desperate to stop it. They are not interested in ACCOUNTABILITY they are interested in DESTROYING JAMAICA

If you follow me, you know I have no issue with criticism of govt that is based on facts, having done so myself. What we see though, for some time now, esp with the ascendancy of the RISE camp, are LIES being shrouded as criticism. Its a strategy outlined but NB in an interview

I’m annoyed by the incessant subtle, soto voce comments suggesting incompetence. Some don’t mention anything positive, they don’t even make accusations. Just innuendos. I for one don’t see this administration as perfect, but way more competent than any PNP has ever been

The government not communicating with the wider public, if it takes publishing the names and amount the each person in all the areas received, then do it, it's tax payers money so publishing the names and amount they received is quite appropriate.

David, the public’s right to criticise government is beyond dispute. The accuracy of a particular criticism remains open to challenge. Defending the first does not establish the second. The Prime Minister’s explanation must withstand scrutiny. So must the allegation that prompted it. General references to politicians enriching themselves provide no evidence about how these particular relief funds were used. If the figures are wrong, identify the error. If the explanation is incomplete, identify the omission. Calling the response “lashing out” does not address its substance. Government owes citizens answers. Those answers can include a firm challenge to an accusation. The right to demand accountability does not make a factual allegation immune from correction.
Citizens in a functioning democracy are supposed to provide feedback and constructive criticism. They are supposed to expect transparency and accountability. If you are paid by taxpayers then you work FOR the taxpayers which is why these people are called Public Servants. However, we have seen far too many countries where these people are Self-serving and lash out at those who ask questions or make suggestions. They enrich themselves and their friends through politics. My generation and the generation mine after will not tolerate what generations before us tolerated. We are fed up. Let’s be part of the change rather than just complain on social media. Show up and vote.

Our entertainers have global recognition that translates into credibility but they often don’t paint the full picture. Govt doesn’t have that luxury so we have to respond. Until I provided video evidence, Buju Banton had the world believing he sent a plane full of goods that the Customs officers stole items from. Only after persons saw video footage, they accepted that the Govt and Civil servants were being maligned. The posts were then removed and apologies tendered. Lest We Forget.

I blame the state of our journalism for a lot of the mis- and discommunication in the country. Everything is a rage-bait headline. No properly researched or balanced published articles or television reports. Just foolishness and vibes.

I absolutely agree with the govt. on this.If you want to access govt.programs such as this one you MUST COMPEL AN BOUN to register under the NIDS. Some J'cans will always find a problem for a solution.
Having listened to the clip just now and I have attached same, the concern remains. There is a difference between urging people to register rather than saying "...everyone who is seeking to get a benefit through the recovery process, whether it is the grants or whatever it is, that you MUST go and register under the national identification system." PM @AndrewHolnessJM should clarify his statement.

Honestly, I think we've moved on from those voice notes way too quickly. People have genuinely already forgotten about those bone-chilling plans that were being made by public servants to derail relief efforts for suffering Jamaicans for their own selfish personal/political gain

STATEMENT BY THE HON. JULIET CUTHBERT-FLYNN, OD, MP, MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL SECURITY AND PEACE, ON THE DEADLY ATTACK IN SLIGOVILLE, ST. CATHERINE I condemn in the strongest possible terms the brutal and deadly attack on members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force during a police operation in Sligoville, St. Catherine, which claimed the life of Corporal Trevoy Shaw and left another officer critically injured. I extend my deepest condolences to Corporal Shaw's family, loved ones, and colleagues, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. My thoughts and prayers are also with the injured officer and his family, as I pray for his full and speedy recovery. This attack is a stark reminder of the grave dangers our police officers confront daily as they work to protect our citizens and safeguard our communities. These brave men and women leave their families each day with the expectation of returning home safely. No family should have to endure the heartbreak of losing a loved one who answered the call to serve and protect. Let me be unequivocal. Violence against our security forces is an attack on the very institutions entrusted with protecting our people and upholding law and order. Such acts of criminality cannot and will not be tolerated. As Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security and Peace, I stand firmly in solidarity with the leadership and members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. We remain unwavering in our commitment to support our security personnel and ensure those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice. Those who seek to intimidate our security forces and undermine the safety of our communities must never be allowed to prevail. Our resolve to confront violent crime and protect the Jamaican people remains steadfast. Today, we mourn a brave officer who gave his life in service to Jamaica. His sacrifice will never be forgotten. May Corporal Shaw's soul rest in peace, and may his family and colleagues find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Near tears listening to SSP Dennis Brooks on Beyond the Headlines tak about how the gun men in Sligoville used a child as a shield in the gun battle against the police this morning. And shot two police men in the process - one fatally. Evil of the highest order.
