The mindset for our short lives on this rock should be to do our part to leave this world in a better condition than when we arrived.
Everything else is temporary, and optional.
u got a loicense for talking to your friends in game m8????
UKs Online Safety Minister has announced all in-game chat will be placed behind an ID gate. Cutting of teenagers from the ability to socialise, risking the cybersecurity of gamers and driving up costs for Gaming industry gamersvoice.org/uk-gaming-re… #SaveOurGames #Stopkillinginternet
File shredding (multiple-pass deletion) is recommended in some of our own national cybersecurity guidelines.
Even in the UK, you're not going to end up on a watchlist for recommending them. It's something I recommended frequently when working with public sector organisations.
Most watchlists in this country are relating to political opinions, not tech takes. As you rightly point out, they're incompetent illiterates when it comes to tech. Dare I say it... In some instances, you may find this incompetent illiteracy is actually a blessing.
Replying to @KamiHomuraAkemi
Apparently there is a method calling 'File shredding' but I feel like that would get me on a watchlist.
Started the AI Engineer path on roadmap.sh 💪
I understand some of the basics of AI & LLMs, but some of the things people talk about on here I'm still lost on.
About time I brushed up my understanding!

Your attention is the most valuable thing you own. And they are stealing it on purpose.
Outrage cycles. Celebrity noise. Political theater. Loud, useless distractions, all day long.
Meanwhile, in silence, online child safety laws are spreading across the world. The EU. The UK. Australia. Canada. The United States.
Same laws. Same language. Same goal: digital ID for every person online. The first piece of the CBDC, AI, and social credit control grid.
No shouting. No headlines. Just a quiet takeover of your freedom, sold as protecting children.
When your kids ask what you did when this was happening, what will you say? That you were watching the show?
Spread the word. Make it the most important thing you do. For your kids. Your grandkids. For humanity.
Follow me. Every day I show you what is coming and how to stop it.

I was previously diagnosed with GAD specifically, and tried over 10 different medications. Over the years I only got worse, until eventually I became suicidal.
LSD microdosing (yes, micro, I have never even used a full dose!) was enough to change my perspective, and briefly interrupted whatever negative cycle my brain was caught in. In the weeks/months afterwards I started moving in a completely different direction for the first time in my life.
Today I'm a completely different person, sober, clean, and free from all medication, including managing to quit some of the most addictive drugs known to man (benzodiazepines).
If it wasn't for that last ditch attempt with microdosing, I'm 100% certain I wouldn't be alive today. Absolutely saved my life, no question.

The world really has gone completely insane. I think it’s best I stop posting on here for a little bit before I say something I shouldn’t. I’m not sure how much longer we can carry on living like this with a government that is destroying real British people as fast as they can.
So, for the past few days I have been using gemini for a change. In the past I only used either ChatGPT or Claude.
I'm actually pretty impressed, and 3.8 flash appears to be enough for most of the work I'm doing right now.
It's been a while since I used AI to assist me with academic work, but, when I think back to the models I was using last year, I was often resorting to using the more advanced models and would burn through quota to get the responses I wanted. Think I'm going to keep on using gemini for now.

Nobody really studied the effects of really stupid people using AI
It’s awful man
They use it to make really bad anecdotal tweets with articulation beyond their own, or spread low iq easily dispelled rumors with photoshopped images
Entire feed is AI slop to make third worlders 20$ biweekly at the expense of our time and attention span
Black mirror episode hell

All the morons on X posting conspiracy theories about an airplane crash before they have any information is just fucking disgusting. The modern internet has become a joke - just a sea of idiots and assholes. Utter dumb fucks.
If your VERY FIRST reaction to watching a horrific Learjet crash is “That looks fake,” “It was a missile,” or “Where’s the debris?” then congratulations. You’ve just identified yourself as the perfect mark for every conspiracy grifter on the internet.
It’s the same breathtaking stupidity that gave us the 9/11 Pentagon “missile” and “missing debris” conspiracy theories.
A horrific tragedy unfolds before your eyes, and before you know a single fact, your first instinct is to invent a conspiracy. STFU & GTFO!
You’re not “just asking questions.” You’re broadcasting your ignorance, your gullibility, and your complete inability to distinguish evidence from bullshit.
And the people exploiting these tragedies know EXACTLY who you are. They know how to manipulate you, outrage you, and keep you coming back for another helping of manufactured mystery.
They turn human suffering into conspiracy content, and you eagerly spread it for them.
You think you’re exposing a cover-up. You’re actually exposing how easily you can be played.
The grifters have a product. You’re the customer.

Own your intelligence.
Anyone that opposes this has something to sell you (perhaps your own intelligence back to you.)
Local models need to continue proliferating. The “absolute unit” massive models may be out of reach for now locally, so your best option is to, indeed, keep your options open. Own your harness, data, connections, runtime: your agents. Embrace open source.
With the way these companies have been acting recently, it's definitely time to use & support open source models where possible.
