When the last several Harry Potter books were released, we had midnight book launches attended by millions. Children, in some cases very young, finished these 700 & 800 page books in a single day. And now people are telling me I made it up, that this couldn’t ever have happened.
Millennials, what was considered completely NORMAL in 2005 that would be absolutely unhinged today?

Ja, det er i alle fall ikke fansens skyld. De har prøvd å gjøre dette til hovedtema i snart 20 år. Mediene har ikke vært spesielt interessert.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

The crux of the matter is simple: Sir Ratcliffe chose Wilcox over Ashworth; the choice was a mistake; time to recognize that and start over. Based on relevant reports, what Dan Ashworth excels at is structure and organization-building, much more so than being able to identify a talented player or the right build up tactic. His previous work, at Brighton especially, seems to prove this point. Ashworth builds so that the organization can thrive as a whole, rather than being the key problem-solver of every process. There were reports of SJR being displeased that Ashworth was unable to immediately provide him with a list of names for possible vacancies, in the squad and on the banch. Wilcox, on the other hand, prides himself on having an excellent eye for talents and wishing to do the tactical and coaching work instead of the head coach. Two very different profiles, before even getting to the topics of their respective experience and competence. In short, an owner like SJR obviously wanted a yes-man and alleged specialist who wouldn’t mind the owner getting very involved, distrupting the regular hierarchy and authority. Having a seasoned executive who was all about structure and process rather seems like the exact opposite of what Ratcliffe truly wanted: control and ability to meddle at will. But what United need, more than anything, is structure with a host of competent executives rather than a self-proclaimed miracle worker who will mostly work to appease the boss.

As bad as INEOS are, I think I speak for every MUFC fan when I say I’d stop supporting the club if we were owned by Qatar
why do united fans keep saying sheikh jassim and qatar weren't real? he had a delegation full of his representatives who visited both carrington and old trafford. their attempts were 100% serious and real

I still don’t know how Wilcox got the job and why he is still at the club. He should be sacked before Carrick. Get a competent DoF.
Peter Schmeichel on Jason Wilcox: “We have people who openly, in their playing careers, stated that they hated Manchester United. Playing for clubs they were enemies of Manchester United. With very little experience, all of a sudden, they're in decision-making jobs at Manchester United. I just don't understand why he's there. I mean, when you played for Leeds, you know, you're supposed to hate Man United. And of course, he hated Man United.” [@WeAreTheOverlap] #MUFC

Curious why Poch's name isn't being mentioned around the United job. Empowers players. Great at developing younger talent. Great at getting players fit. Press-first approach. School of Bielsa and bit Iraola in how he likes his team's to attack. US job showed his ability to bait + accelerate in current tactical meta. PL proven. He'd be my pick if Carrick were to go.

Bruno Fernandes has reached his breaking point at Manchester United, as Captain he cannot do what he has. He has given everything to the club since January 2020, carrying them on his back time & again. His love, commitment & loyalty cannot be questioned. He has been patient, given his best years to owners & decision makers who have broken promises & failed over & over to get this thing right. He's had enough. There are countless examples of what he has done for the club on & off the pitch, I don't need to recount the stories. He has so much credit in the bank, it is sad to see people throw it all away because of this. Bruno isn't the problem. He's had enough of the real problem, if you can't understand that I can't help you. We are sick of cycle & clearly so is he - can you blame him? We're talking about a human being, not a robot. We demand perfection, he isn't perfect - but he could not have given more to us. We should try & remember that before talking about him on days like today, because I don't blame him for being fed up. I am too. I don't condone what he has done in the past week, but doesn't mean at the same time I don't understand it. How much can someone give before being at their wits end. He needed to be better, but deserves better too.
