This is Very Very Interesting. Chennai Based Cargo Operator, AFCOM Cargo, is Hiring Captains and First Officers Rated for the Boeing 777! 🇮🇳👀
AFCOM has Signed an LOI with Boring for 4 777-8 Freighters, but Deliveries of those Begin Much Later. So, this could be something else!

#WATCH | Delhi | On his journey to joining Air India, Air India’s new CEO & MD Tewolde Gebremariam says, "The discussion was focused on building on the transformation and taking Air India to the next stage. They believe that I can do it... I have served in Ethiopia for about 37 years. So I grew up there right from the age of 18... 11 years as CEO, 4 years as COO... When we started the growth, it started when I was COO with Vision 2010... We manage the airline business from quarter to quarter because it is a very dynamic business.... But I convinced myself and my team that we have to really plan for a longer period of time. This business, while it looks like a short-term business because of volatility and also dynamism, is, by its nature, a long-term business."

Of two minds on the Heathrow Delta move controversy.
On one hand, co-locating is JV 101 and, for Virgin, DL *is* its partner. No wonder they're pissed.
On the other, only a few VS routes provide unique connxs for DL. How many travelers actually connect? thetimes.com/business/compan…

Ahead of tomorrow’s govt meeting, airlines seek details on Navi Mumbai airport’s preparedness for the proposed relocation of 265 weekly international departure slots from Mumbai T2 after Oct 25
Sources say that carriers are seeking clarity on whether maintenance, regulatory, security, staff and ground-handling requirements are fully in place ahead of the proposed October 25 transition.
Their questions include:
Aircraft maintenance: Is line maintenance available
at Navi Mumbai for each aircraft type, and are the MRO providers appropriately certified?
Maintenance training: Have line maintenance providers completed the required training and certifications for every airline and aircraft type?
DGCA approvals: Have maintenance providers and facilities received DGCA certification for the relevant aircraft types?
Foreign airline approvals: Have foreign carriers obtained the necessary approvals from their respective Civil Aviation Authorities for line maintenance at Navi Mumbai?
Airline office infrastructure: Is adequate office space available for the large number of airlines expected to operate from the airport?
Security approvals: Have Airline Operator Security Programme (AOSP) approvals been obtained from BCAS for each airline?
Security clearances: Have all airline and ground-handling personnel received security clearances and Aerodrome Entry Permits (AEPs)?
Airside access: Are airside vehicle passes and staff driving permits in place?
Ground-handling readiness: Have ground-handling staff been trained and certified for operations of each airline?

Heathrow expansion is about strengthening connections across the whole UK.
Today, Heathrow's domestic routes support nearly £1.2bn in tourism spending, helping local businesses, jobs and communities benefit from domestic and international travel.
But Heathrow is full. Expansion would create the opportunity for more domestic connections, linking more parts of the UK to the nation's only hub airport and the global opportunities it unlocks.
For Yorkshire, that could mean restoring direct connectivity between @LBIAirport and @HeathrowAirport, making it easier for businesses, exporters, visitors and investors to connect with the region and the world.
And the benefits could go even further. Analysis in @FrontierEcon's Keeping the UK Connected- Domestic connectivity at Heathrow report shows that unlocking new domestic routes could support an additional £335m in annual gross tourism spend for the UK.

Sir, just open up 10-15 hangars
Air India really needs to refurbish the entire cabin—not just put new seat covers on broken seats.
Non-functional IFE, loose/broken tray tables, worn-out interiors… and seats that seem to face turbulence of their own.
If you’re going to keep flying these old birds, they really need a proper cabin refurbishment.

NEW: Heathrow airport’s third runway is to be delayed by four years, meaning it will not be operational until 2039.
This is why we have anaemic growth.
A Reform government will pass emergency legislation to remove the planning barriers and get it built.

Heathrow’s third runway will now be delayed until 2039. China has built more than 100 airports in the last 25 years.
Britain is truly a broken country, we can’t build or do anything.
Only Reform will reverse our third-world decline.

It says the goal is to build a world-class airline that makes India a global aviation hub, not just a market others fly through

🇬🇧 London Stock Exchange Eyes 24-Hour Trading!
▪️The London Stock Exchange plans to launch round-the-clock trading next year, marking a major shift in global market operations.
▪️The initial rollout will focus on exchange-traded products (ETPs), with a phased expansion to other asset classes over time.
▪️The move aims to meet growing demand from global investors for access beyond traditional market hours.
▪️24-hour trading is expected to improve market accessibility and align the LSE with the rise of digital and around-the-clock financial markets.
▪️The initiative reflects increasing competition among global exchanges to attract international trading volumes.

Pretty clear from government's announcements today on Council reorganisation #LGR that their decisions are based on politics rather than common sense, finances, or better services. They've consistently chosen the preference of whatever tiny Labour Authority exists in an area, despite the evidence that many of these tiny new unitaries will immediately be insolvent, and largely ignored the views of the large County Councils that run the vast majority of the services across the proposed geography.
We heard rumours after the initial fast track area announcements recently that Ministers had ignored the advice of civil servants. It seems like no volume of complaints or judicial reviews is going to make them see sense on this. Political convenience apparently trumps good public services.
